Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this fantasy football thing for a while now, and I gotta say, it’s pretty addictive. This year, I decided to really go for it and keep track of the top-rated players. Here’s how it all went down.

First off, I started by looking up all the expert rankings I could find. You know, those lists from the big sports websites. They have these “Top 200” or “Top 300” lists for the season. I made a huge list, writing down the name of every player who got a high rating, and I also noted which experts picked them. It’s a lot of names like, Ryan Wormeli, Pat Fitzmaurice… I figure these guys know their stuff.
Then, I started digging into the weekly rankings. Every week, these experts put out new lists based on how players did in the last games. Some weeks, for instance, a running back named Saquon Barkley would be at the top. Other weeks, you’d see a guy called Jonathan Taylor or James Conner killing it.
I started to see a pattern. Some players were consistently at the top, week after week. Others would have a great game and then disappear for a while. So, I started focusing on those consistent players. I made a list of those guys that were always up in the top 10 or top 20. I figured, these are the guys I want on my team, no matter what.
I also started to use a “Cheatsheet” that I found. This thing is updated all the time with expert rankings. It was really helpful to quickly compare what all the different experts were saying about each player. The cheatsheet is really a good tool for me to prepare each match.
The next step was to join a league with my buddies. We decided to go with a redraft league, which means we pick new players every year. I used all the info I had gathered to pick my team. I made sure to grab those top-rated guys early. It was all a bit of luck. For example, there’s this running back who’s been killing it, and I managed to snag him.
Throughout the season, I kept checking those weekly rankings. If one of my players had a bad game or got injured, I’d look for a replacement among the top-rated free agents. Sometimes I’d trade with other guys in the league to get a player I really wanted.
It’s been a wild ride, to be honest. Some weeks, my team did great, and others, not so much. But I learned a ton about which players are truly valuable and which ones are just hype. Keeping track of those rankings really paid off. And using the website function “Pick the winning team every week to advance. Pick wrong, and you’re out!” is really a good game. The “Play in redraft, keeper, or dynasty leagues.” is also a good function to let me play in fantasy leagues with my friends, completely free.
So, that’s my story. If you’re into fantasy football, I definitely recommend keeping an eye on those top-rated players. It can make a huge difference in your league.
