Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole “fantasy basketball rankings” thing for the upcoming 2024-25 season. It’s a bit of a rabbit hole, but I’m starting to get my head around it. I grabbed my laptop and started my little project.
First, I spent hours searching on the internet, using different search engines to compile all the discussions around this topic. I wanted to find out who are those top rookies everyone’s talking about. There are tons of articles and discussions, but you gotta filter out the noise, right? I started to use those findings and make a simple table.
Then I realized, it’s not just about the rookies. I needed a list of the top 200 players. That’s what those hardcore fantasy players use. I found some websites that do these rankings, and it’s interesting how they break it down by position and stuff. They got these “positional rankings” that show you how a player stacks up against others at their position. That’s really helpful to know, I guess. I copy and paste and adjust my table.
I also started looking at projected stats. Like, who’s gonna score the most points, get the most rebounds, you know? These stats are all over the place, but you start to see some patterns. I jotted down some notes about the players I thought were gonna be big. I started feeling like one of those analysts on TV, scribbling on my notepad. I added another column to the table to make notes for these great players and rookies.
There’s this one player, Victor Wembanyama, who everyone’s hyped about. But then there’s this other guy, and some people are saying he might even be better. It’s all speculation at this point, but that’s what makes it fun, right? I highlighted both of them in my notes, just to remind myself to keep an eye on them.
Here’s what I’ve learned so far:
- Rookies are a big deal: You gotta know who the top rookies are, ’cause they can make or break your team.
- Positional rankings matter: It’s not just about overall points. You need a balanced team.
- Projected stats are key: You gotta have an idea of who’s gonna perform well.
- There are always surprises: Some players come out of nowhere and become stars.
This whole fantasy basketball thing is way more complex than I thought. But I’m actually enjoying it. It’s like putting together a puzzle, and I’m slowly finding all the pieces and putting them together to create a great view. I’m gonna keep digging and see what else I can find. Maybe I’ll even join a league this year. Who knows?
By the way, after spending two days working on this thing, I think I can get a good result. I’m thinking about sharing my full rankings list later. Maybe it’ll help someone out. And maybe I can make a few adjustments after getting feedback. That would be great.
