Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this NFL fantasy football thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. This year, I really wanted to nail my draft, so I spent a ridiculous amount of time looking up stats and predictions. I figured I’d share my top picks and how I came to choose them, maybe save someone else some time.

First off, I went straight for Christian McCaffrey with my first pick. I mean, the guy’s a beast! Last year he was just racking up points like crazy, and everyone pretty much agreed he was the top choice. He was pretty much a no-brainer, so I grabbed him without any hesitation.
- Went with Christian McCaffrey as my first overall pick.
- He had some crazy points per game last season.
- Everyone says he’s the guy to get, so I did.
Next, I really wanted to focus on wide receivers and running backs early on. I saw this model thing online that suggested that’s the way to go. So, I started digging into some of the younger wide receivers.
I stumbled upon this guy, Malik Nabers, playing for the NYG. Apparently, he’s a hot-shot rookie, and some folks are saying he’s one of the best WR prospects in recent years. Plus, I read somewhere that 21-year-old wide receivers tend to do really well, so I thought, “Why not?” I decided to roll the dice and pick him up.
- Decided to focus on WRs and RBs early in the draft.
- Found some info about a model suggesting that strategy.
- Picked up Malik Nabers, a promising rookie WR for the NYG.
- Heard he’s a top prospect, and young WRs often break out, so I took a chance.
Older, but Still Kicking
Now, I know some people get all nervous about picking older players, but I’ve seen some real value in the veterans. I mean, look at guys like Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, and Alvin Kamara. Yeah, they’re a bit older, but they still put up some serious points last year. I managed to grab a couple of these seasoned players later in the draft, and I’m pretty happy about it.
- Snagged some older but reliable players like Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, and Alvin Kamara.
- They still scored a ton of points last season.
- Got them later in the draft, which felt like a steal.
I also learned that you can’t just drop any player whenever you want. There’s this “undroppable” list that the system uses. Guys like Aaron Rodgers, you’re stuck with them. So, you gotta keep that in mind. Plus, if the game has already started, that player is locked, and you can’t mess with them. That’s a learning experience.
Oh, and one more thing. After the regular season, it’s not totally over. There is this DFS thing where you can still play during the playoffs. It’s kind of fun and keeps you in the game, so I did participate in those to enjoy NFL playoff games.
So yeah, that’s my story for this year’s fantasy draft. I tried to mix it up with some solid veterans and some up-and-coming rookies. We’ll see how it all plays out, but I feel pretty good about my choices. Hopefully, this rambling helps someone out there. Good luck with your drafts, everyone!
