Okay, so, I’ve been getting into this fantasy baseball thing, and let me tell you, it’s a whole other world. Today, I want to share my experience with figuring out these draft rankings, which honestly, has been quite the ride.

First off, I started by diving into articles and guides. I went to a few websites and found a bunch of articles about fantasy baseball. Most of them talked about draft strategies, player rankings, and all that. It was overwhelming at first. I read through a guide that said it was the ultimate one, and it promised to help out newbies and experienced players. Seemed like a good place to start, right?
Next, I looked at player positions, particularly shortstops. I figured it would be important to know who’s who in that position, since they seem pretty crucial. There was a site that gave a detailed analysis of shortstops, and that helped me get a better grip on things.
Then, I went deeper into the draft prep stuff. I checked out a 2023 fantasy baseball draft prep guide with rankings, tiers, and even some mock drafts. It was helpful to see how other people were approaching their drafts. I saw that some folks were really big on starting pitchers. There was this tip about dedicating at least three of the first five rounds to starting pitchers, and if you include closers, then four of the first six picks. The logic was that if you don’t focus on pitching early, you might be in trouble later on. Makes sense, I guess.
I also learned that many people like to grab a good quarterback with their first pick, but the smart move seemed to be going for a wide receiver or a running back. They mentioned that if you’re leaning towards a running back, look for someone like Devonta Freeman who has good ratings. And if you’re into wide receivers, they said to pick a tight end. That was interesting.
Oh, and I stumbled upon a podcast too. It was called the FantasyPros Baseball Podcast, and it seemed like a good way to stay updated on strategies and player news. I haven’t listened to many episodes yet, but I plan to.
I even tried out a mock draft. There was this site, Fantrax, that a lot of people were talking about. They claimed to be the most customizable and easy-to-use platform. I decided to give it a shot and see how I’d do in a simulated draft. It was a good way to test out different strategies and see how the rankings played out in a real draft scenario. I participated in a 2025 fantasy baseball mock draft which was head-to-head points based. There was a player called Paul Skenes and he went in the first round.
Lastly, I joined a Discord chat. It was a community of fantasy baseball fans, and it was a great place to ask questions and get advice from more experienced players. People were sharing their own strategies and discussing the latest news, which was super helpful.
Wrapping Up
So, that’s been my journey so far with fantasy baseball draft rankings. It’s been a lot of information to take in, but I’m starting to get the hang of it. I’ve learned a ton from reading guides, analyzing player positions, doing mock drafts, and talking to other fans. I’m excited to keep learning and hopefully get better at this whole fantasy baseball thing. It’s definitely a fun and challenging hobby, and I’m looking forward to seeing how my team does this season!
