Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this NFL mock draft thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started out just casually looking at the draft order, you know, seeing who’s picking first and all that. The top order is already set, which is cool. The Tennessee Titans are landing at No. 1 in 2025, which is pretty interesting.

Then I got sucked into this rabbit hole of mock drafts. It’s like, everyone and their mother has an opinion on who each team should pick. I started with a simple one, just looking at the first round.
I started looking at the needs of each team. I tried to think like a general manager. Which positions do they need to fill? What are their weaknesses? Who are the best players available? Some guys, like Mel Kiper and Lance Zierlein, are apparently really good at this. I’m just a guy with a computer, but it’s fun to try to predict, I won’t lie.
I picked up a couple of names from different places, like, for the Cardinals, maybe Lamar Jackson as QB and Donte Jackson later on. It’s just a guess, but it’s fun to think about.
I spent hours on this, seriously. I went through multiple versions, changing my picks, moving players around. I even tried to predict trades, which is a whole other level of complexity. But yeah, it is difficult.
Then I decided to go all out and try to do a full seven-round mock draft. I grabbed a list of all 257 picks and just started plugging in names. I used everything I had looked at before, adding the players from Bryce Young to Gervarrius Owens. This took forever, but I finally finished it.
I ended up with a full seven-round mock draft that I’m actually kind of proud of. It’s probably completely wrong, but who knows? It was a fun experiment, and I learned a lot about the draft process and the players. The real draft is in Green Bay, Wisconsin, next year. Maybe I’ll go just to see how wrong I was.

It was a fun little project. Maybe I’ll do it again next year. Who knows?
