Man, you won’t believe what I got into today. So, I’m a huge basketball fan, right? And I’m always looking for ways to catch the games, especially when I’m not at home or near a TV. That’s when I stumbled upon this whole world of Reddit streams for basketball.
I started digging around, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a rabbit hole. I found out that there’s this subreddit, r/NBA, where folks share links to watch games live. Apparently, they’re not official or anything, but it seemed like a cool way to watch the NBA games, also it’s free.
First, I had to figure out which streams were legit. There are a ton of posts, and not all of them are good. So, I started looking for posts with lots of upvotes and comments. Those seemed like the most reliable ones. And there are some other subreddits too, like NBAstreams, it’s a good alternative as I know.
Then, I clicked on a few links. Some of them took me to these random websites that looked a bit sketchy. But, I did find a few that were streaming the games in pretty decent quality. I was actually surprised at how good some of the streams were.

I ended up watching a whole game through one of these Reddit streams. It wasn’t perfect. There were a few times when the stream buffered or the quality dipped, but overall, it was a pretty good experience. And hey, it was free, so I can’t complain too much.
One thing I noticed is that the community around these streams is pretty active. People were commenting on the game, sharing their thoughts, and even helping each other out with technical issues. It felt like a little online sports bar or something.
My thoughts
I did a little more digging and found out that these streams are kind of a gray area. They’re not exactly legal, but they’re also not something that the NBA seems to be cracking down on too hard. I guess as long as you’re not trying to make money off of it, it’s not a huge deal.
Anyway, I thought I’d share my little adventure with you guys. If you’re a basketball fan and you’re looking for a way to watch games, you might want to check out these Reddit streams. Just be careful with the links, and make sure you have a good ad-blocker installed.
It’s definitely an interesting way to watch sports, and I’m kind of curious to see how it evolves in the future. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll all be watching games through these unofficial streams. But for now, I’m just happy to have found a way to catch my favorite teams in action, even when I’m on the go. NBA LP is too expensive for me, and this discovery is like a Christmas present to me, LOL!
