Well, I heard you wanna know about them NFL sportscaster salary. Them fellas on the TV, hollerin’ about the football game. Seems like a pretty good job, just talkin’ for a livin’. My grandson, he’s always watchin’ that stuff. Says he wants to be one of them sportscasters when he grows up.
I seen some numbers, Lord have mercy, they make more money than a whole lotta folks I know. It’s kinda crazy, ain’t it? Just for talkin’ about a game! Back in my day, folks worked hard for their money. Real hard, in the fields, or in the factory. Not just sittin’ in a comfy chair yappin’ away. But, times change, I reckon.
I guess folks really love watchin’ that football. Must be why them sportscasters get paid so much. They say that TV revenue, whatever that is, has gone way up. More than the tickets to the games, even! I guess there’s a lot of money in that TV box. More money than you can shake a stick at.
It used to be, you went to the game, you saw it live. Now everybody just watches it on that little screen. My old eyes can barely even see what’s goin’ on, but the young folks, they’re glued to it. They know all the players’ names, all the NFL announcers’ pay, everything. It’s a whole different world, I tell ya.
Now, I heard this one fella, Tom Brady, he’s gonna be makin’ more money than anyone. He used to play football, now he’s gonna talk about it. And they’re gonna pay him a king’s ransom, I hear. They say he’s the highest-paid broadcaster ever. Imagine that! More money than most of them fellas actually playin’ the game! Some folk say the median salary of the players ain’t that high. The average salary is way different, though. It’s all confusing to me.

It ain’t like the old days, that’s for sure. Used to be a simple life. You worked hard, you earned your keep. Now it’s all about who can talk the best on that TV. But hey, if that’s what the people want, I guess that’s what they get. I just hope my grandson knows it ain’t all fun and games. Takes hard work to get to the top, in anythin’.

I hear the average hourly pay is about $29.59. That ain’t bad. Better than flippin’ burgers, I reckon. But the big stars make way more. This sportscaster job is something, huh? Lots of folks wanna do it.
But you know, money ain’t everything. There’s somethin’ to be said for an honest day’s work, doin’ somethin’ real with your hands. Not just talkin’ about it on the TV. But that’s just my two cents. These young folks today, they got different ideas.
I guess all them fancy compensation packages, and the money per game they make, it just blows my mind. They say it has to do with the National Football League and all that. I don’t know nothin’ about that, I just know it’s a lot of money. More money than I ever seen in my life.
This world, it’s always changin’. Faster and faster, it seems. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up. But one thing’s for sure, them sportscasters, they’re makin’ a pretty penny. Whether they deserve it or not, well, that’s for someone else to decide.
