Well, well, well, today I gonna tell you something ’bout that National Womens Sports Day. It’s a big day, you know? It’s for them girls and women who play them sports, running and jumping and all that. They say it’s in the first week of February, every year. Just a time to say “good job” to them ladies, I reckon.

Now, why is it important? This day, it ain’t just some silly holiday. It’s ’cause these girls, they work hard. They sweat and they train. They good at what they do. Just like them boys, maybe even better sometimes! This day, we gotta tell ’em we see ’em. We see how hard they workin’.

You see them girls playin’ sports, it does somethin’ to ya. Makes ya proud. Makes ya wanna cheer ’em on. And it ain’t just about winning, though that’s nice too. It’s about bein’ strong, and workin’ together, and never givin’ up. That’s what I think, anyway.

They say this National Womens Sports Day been goin’ on for a while now. Been a way to remember all them women athletes. The ones who run fast, the ones who jump high, the ones who throw far. All of ’em. They did good, them women. They showed the world what they could do.

I remember back in my day, girls didn’t have as many chances to play sports. But things are changin’, and that’s a good thing. Now, you see girls playin’ all kinds of sports. So, this February, when that day comes around, you remember them girls. You remember them women. You remember what they can do. And you tell ’em, “Good job! Keep goin’!” ‘Cause they deserve it. They earned it. And they gonna keep on earnin’ it, I just know it.

They call it a nationwide celebration, this National Womens Sports Day. Celebrating them girls and women in sports. Celebrating all they done and all they gonna do. It’s about liftin’ ’em up, showin’ ’em we support ’em. And it’s a good thing, a real good thing. It is a day to recognize them girls achievements, you know?

Them people in, uh, North Dakota, they celebrate it too. They got some high school activities, and they say this day is important for them too. Everyone should celebrate this day, I reckon. Everyone should see what these girls can do, what these women have done.
