Alright, let’s gab about them UCLA basketball fellas who went on to play in the NBA. You know, that big-shot basketball league. Lots of them boys from UCLA, they go on to be famous and make big bucks.

UCLA, a Real NBA Player Factory
UCLA, they got this fancy basketball program. Won a whole bunch of championships, more than any other school, they say. And because they so good, they churn out NBA players like a factory makes sausages, you know? I heard they got, like, over a hundred fellas who played for UCLA then went on to the NBA. That’s a whole heap of players!
- Lots of players, that’s what I’m saying.
- More than other schools, they tell me.
- Must be some good coaching or somethin’.
Some Names You Might Know, Some You Don’t
Now, some of these players, everybody knows ’em. Like that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar fella. He was a real giant, played for a long, long time. Twenty seasons, they say! Played for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers. A real star, that one. And then there’s that Westbrook fella and Love, too. They went to the Final Four with UCLA back in ’08. Big shots, them fellas.
But there’s a whole bunch of others, you probably never heard of. They play for all sorts of teams – Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, you name it. Some are real good, some just okay. That’s how it goes, I reckon.
Getting Drafted and Playing Pro
See, these young fellas, they play for UCLA, and then if they’re good enough, they get “drafted” into the NBA. It’s like a lottery, I guess. Teams pick ’em, and then they go play for money. That Peyton Watson boy, he got drafted by the Denver Nuggets not too long ago. And that Jaime Jaquez Jr. fella, he’s in the NBA now too.
UCLA’s Got More NBA Players Than Most
They say UCLA had, like, 14 fellas playing in the NBA at the same time back in 2010 or 2011. More than any other school, they tell me. That’s a lot of players! Now, they say Kentucky got more overall, but UCLA, they still got a whole bunch. They keep track of all these fellas, you know. Got lists and everything. Positions they play, how tall they are, all that stuff. Some are guards, some are big centers, you know, like that Kareem fella.
Staying in the League is Tough
It ain’t easy staying in the NBA, though. Lots of fellas get drafted, but they don’t last long. Gotta be real good, real tough, to stick around. Some of these UCLA boys, they play for a few years, then they’re done. Others, like Kareem, they play for a long, long time. It all depends, I guess.
More Than Just Points and Games
It ain’t just about playing basketball, though. These fellas, they gotta be good role models, too. Lots of young kids look up to them. So, they gotta behave themselves, stay out of trouble. That’s what my old man used to say, anyways. Be a good person, work hard, and treat folks right.
From College to the Big Time
So, that’s the story of them UCLA basketball fellas. They go to college, play some good ball, and then some of ‘em go on to the NBA. Some become famous, some just play for a little while. But they all part of that UCLA tradition, you know? A winning tradition. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon.
A Legacy of Basketball Excellence
It’s somethin’ special, this UCLA basketball thing. They just keep producin’ these fellas who go on to play pro. It’s like they got a secret recipe or somethin’. Makes you wonder what they doin’ over there, trainin’ these young’uns to be so good. Must be somethin’ in the water, or maybe it’s just good old-fashioned hard work and talent. Whatever it is, it’s workin’.
Following Their Careers
I like to keep track of these fellas, see how they doin’ in the NBA. It’s like watchin’ your own grandkids grow up, in a way. You see ’em start out at UCLA, then they go off to the big leagues, and you root for ’em. Even if they don’t play for my favorite team, I still want ’em to do good. They from UCLA, after all. That makes ’em special, in my book.
Basketball is a tough game but these UCLA fellas they seem to handle it just fine. Good for them, I say. They work hard and they deserve all the success they get. And who knows, maybe next year there will be even more UCLA players in the NBA. That wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
