So this morning I’m drinking coffee scrolling Twitter when I notice folks already hyping next year’s State Class A Girls Basketball Tournament. Figured I should pin down dates and broadcast spots early. Total headache though, since NDHSAA website’s a maze.

The First Wild Goose Chase
Grabbed my laptop, fired up Chrome, typed “2025 ND high school basketball state tourney dates” real fast. Big mistake. Google spat out like ten pages of outdated 2024 schedules. Clicked three links – all trash. One even took me to dang Minnesota’s site. Coffee’s getting cold and I’m getting cranky.
Remembered the association site URL. Typed it slow this time. Navigated through five menus – “Sports” > “Winter Sports” > “Basketball” > “Girls Basketball” > felt like digging to China. Finally hit “Tournament Information.” Boom: “2025 STATE CLASS A GIRL’S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT – MARCH 6-8.” Wrote that down in my planner with a shaky hand.
Where’s It At?
Checked the venue next. Site said “Bismarck Event Center” same as always. Easy peasy. Or so I thought. Last year’s cable access livestream was potato quality, so I needed solid viewing options.

My broadcasting hunt:
- First tried NDHSAA’s “Watch” page – broken embed players everywhere.
- Googled “watch 2025 ND class A girls state basketball.” Found three sketchy streaming links asking for credit cards. Nope.
- Checked local news sites. KFYR’s site mentioned “broadcast details to come” – useless.
- Scrolled the Event Center’s Facebook page. Found a comment: “Games streamed free on NDHSANetwork.”
Back to the dang association site I go. Two menus deeper, found the Network page. Tiny print said “All championship events broadcast LIVE.” Didn’t trust it, so I emailed their support. Guy named Dave replied: “Yes free streaming. Radio too via local partners.” Finally. Called the Bismarck AM station he mentioned – confirmation straight from Sheila in production.
The Verdict
Stapled my notes to the bulletin board. Took longer than rebuilding my carburetor. But here it is:
-
For posterity:
- Mark your calendar March 6-8, 2025. Games start early morning Thursday.
- Bismarck Event Center’s where you smell popcorn and squeaky sneakers.
- Can’t go? Stream free NDHSANetwork. Or find radio coverage via Bismarck’s KLXX AM 1270.
Showed my kid the plan. She shrugged: “Cool. Can I have pizza?” Moral: Getting tournament info’s like farming. Gotta dig through mud before harvest.
