So look, this playoff schedule thing hit me outta nowhere yesterday morning. Had my coffee, sitting at the kitchen table scrolling through Murray State fan posts like I usually do, just killing time before work.
The Annoying News Hunt
Someone muttered something like “playoff dates soon?” and I went, “Wait, seriously? Already?” Grabbed my laptop quick. Went straight to the official university athletics site first, obviously. Dug around menus, clicked “Baseball,” then “Schedule”… nothing new. Just the regular season games staring back. Annoying as hell. Why they gotta be so slow updating stuff?
Tried ESPN next. Searched “Murray State Baseball 2025.” They had the basic schedule, yeah, but playoffs? Nada. Zip. Felt like banging my head on the table.
Turning to the Messy Social Pile
Okay, fine. Time to wade through the swamp: social media. Hopped over to the Murray State Baseball page. Scrolled down, down, down… mostly hype vids about last week’s wins and players celebrating. Good stuff, but useless for dates. Then checked local news sports sections online. Same old recaps, no future dates.
Finally thought, “Maybe the team actually posted something?” Checked the players’ pages. Scrolled through a bunch of workout vids, family pics, random memes… and then BAM. Buried deep in one pitcher’s story feed from like 3 days ago, a tiny screenshot of an email or something.
Zoomed in. Fuzzy, but it looked… official? Had conference logos and stuff. Saw the words “Regional Play” and dates squished together: “May 30 – June 2.” Didn’t say WHERE, just the when. Progress? Maybe.
Getting Screwed by the Apps
Armed with that little clue, I went back to the big sports apps. ESPN, CBS Sports, theScore… punched in Murray State Baseball. NOTHING. Still showing the regular season finale. Felt like screaming. How can they just not know? They update basketball stuff instantly!
Checked the athletics site AGAIN. Refreshed the page like 10 times. Still nothing new. Gave up after 20 minutes.
Finally, a Glimmer of Sanity
Figured maybe the conference itself knew something. Looked up their baseball page. It looked ancient, like they designed it in the 90s and forgot about it. Found a dropdown menu hidden behind a tiny arrow symbol. Clicked it. Saw a link called “Championship Central.” Clicked that.
Loaded super slow. FINALLY saw it. Plain as day: “2025 Baseball Championship” and right under, “Regional Round: May 30 – June 2“. Had the logo. Had the dates. Had everything. What a mess it took just to get here.
Putting the Damn Thing Together
Smashed that screenshot button immediately. Saved the conference page link too, for backup. Made notes:
1. Regionals: May 30 – June 2
2. Next Round (If they get that far): “TBA” (obviously, gotta wait)
3. Final: Way later in June, no point tracking it yet.
Posted it everywhere – my blog, my fan page, the local group chat. Tagged it “#MurrayStateBaseball #PlayoffDates2025”. Already saw folks sharing my post and saying stuff like “FINALLY!”
Honestly, it shouldn’t be this hard to find out when your own damn team is playing in the playoffs. You’d think they’d shout it from the rooftops. But nah, gotta play detective every single time. What a headache. Still, got it done. Coffee’s cold now. Oh well.
