Getting Started With The Schedule

First thing I did was pull up Boonville High School’s athletics website. Found a tiny PDF buried under three menus showing last season’s outdated schedule. Totally useless for planning game nights this year. Got annoyed but figured maybe they didn’t update it yet.

Boonville High School Football Schedule Plan Your Game Night Now

Hitting Roadblocks

Called the school office Tuesday morning. Some lady told me “football schedules aren’t finalized till August” and hung up. Like bruh – people wanna plan their fall weekends! Next tried messaging Coach Harris on Facebook. Two days later got a thumbs-up emoji reply. Fantastic help there.

Scrappy Research Mode

Started digging through local newspaper archives. Found:

  • Season opener against Jefferson High on September 6th
  • Homecoming game October 18th
  • Rivalry game vs Oak Ridge November 1st

Cross-checked with parents’ Facebook group rumors. Added away game dates from neighboring schools’ posted schedules where Boonville was listed as opponent.

Building My Master List

Grabbed my sticky notes and Sharpie. Wrote down every confirmed date:

  • Sep 6: Jefferson High (HOME) 7PM
  • Sep 13: @ Riverside 7:30PM
  • Sep 27: Valley Forge (HOME) 7PM
  • Oct 4: @ Westfield 7:30PM
  • Oct 18: HOMEcoming vs Pine Grove 8PM
  • Oct 25: @ Clark County 7:30PM
  • Nov 1: Oak Ridge (HOME) 7PM

Highlighted night games in yellow since those are best for bringing kids. Circled home games ’cause duh – cheaper concessions.

The Final Game Plan

Taped that schedule to my fridge yesterday. Already told my buddy Mark to block off October 18th for homecoming. Told my wife we’re ordering pizza before Oak Ridge game. Now I’m ready to yell at refs all season long without missing a single kickoff. Easy peasy.
