Alright so yesterday afternoon I was chilling with my coffee, thinking ’bout the upcoming high school football season, you know how it is. Been following Bolivar High for years, love those Friday night lights. Wanted to get a jump start on planning my game days this fall.

First thing I did was grab my laptop. Opened up the school district’s main page. Took me a few minutes clicking around – always a bit messy finding the specific athletic section. Found it tucked under “Student Life” then “Athletics”. There it was: “Bolivar R-V Football Schedule”. Boom, clicked it.
Got that PDF open. Scrolled past the contact info for the coaches – Coach Miller’s still there, good guy. Then, bam, the whole calendar laid out. Started scanning real quick. Looked for opening kickoff:
- August 23rd! Marked that down right away. Season opener at home against Springfield Central. Gotta be there.
Kept scrolling, eyes peeled for the big ones.
- Circle in red September 20th! That’s our homecoming game versus Branson. Always huge energy, marching band doing special routines, alumni everywhere. Pure chaos, the best kind.
- Then two weeks later, October 4th. West Plains comes to town. That’s a big rivalry game. Last year was nail-biting, down to the wire. Expecting fireworks again.
- And the regular season wraps up November 1st, Senior Night against Marshfield. Gotta honor those kids putting it all out there one last time on home turf.
Made a point to note where we play too:
- August 30th is the first away game, at Logan-Rogersville. Only like 45 minutes, manageable.
- But October 18th? Long haul to Harrisonville. That’s a trip. Better plan a proper road trip for that one, pack snacks.
While staring at it, remembered playoffs. Schedule just shows up to the end of regular season, of course. But man, thinking ’bout potential games in late November gets me pumped. Hope they make a deep run!
Printed that schedule out. Stuck it right on the fridge under a magnet. Grabbed my wall calendar in the kitchen too and scribbled in the key dates: Homecoming in big letters with a football doodle, West Plains with “🔥RIVALRY🔥”, and Senior Night. Gonna block out those evenings.
Shooting a text to my buddies later. “Yo, pulled the Bolivar schedule! Homecoming Sept 20, West Plains Oct 4. You guys in?” Gotta lock down the crew early. Might check the weather closer to each game week, but honestly? Rain or shine, especially for the big ones. Done my homework, ready for kickoff!
