Alright so yesterday I’m scrolling through Twitter around midnight and keep seeing people fight about Minnesota high school basketball teams. Got me thinking man I gotta see who’s actually good this year. Woke up this morning remembering that, said nah Im not taking anyone’s word for it gotta look it up myself.

The Coffee-Fueled Search Begins

Grabbed my phone while the coffee brewed, thumbed open a search engine. Typed “MN high school basketball rankings 2025”. Saw one site popped up fast, clicked it expecting some official list. Opened it… boom. Full page takeover asking me to disable my ad blocker or subscribe. Closed that junk real quick. My toast got cold doing this.

Next result looked sketchy but cleaner. Clicked it scrolled down… man nothing but clickbait headlines saying “SHOCKING CHANGES!” and vague predictions. No actual rankings anywhere. Scrolled back up saw it was just a news site recycling last season’s news. Felt like wasting my time big time.

Finally Found Some Real Info

Almost gave up until I spotted a familiar name of a site I used years back. Clicked that third link – bingo! Clean layout, updated date right there at the top, 2024-2025 season rankings front and center. Felt like finding water in a desert.

Scanned the top boys teams. Park Center right up there number one, saw that coming honestly. East Ridge jumped out at me though – second place? When did they get that fire team? Hopkins… Hopkins didn’t even make the top ten? Nearly choked on my coffee reading that one.

Girls rankings looked wild too. Totino-Grace shooting up to third after being nowhere last year? Grabbed a pen to jot down surprises:

  • Boys: Park Center on top? Expected but still big.
  • Boys: East Ridge seriously took number two? Their coach is working magic.
  • Girls: Totino-Grace soaring like crazy – what changed?
  • Girls: Hopkins ladies holding strong at number one, no shocker there.

Wrapping My Head Around It

Sat there chewing my cold toast staring at the list. Teams like Minnetonka boys dropping spots made sense given who graduated, but seeing others climb that fast feels nuts. You forget how much changes year to year with kids graduating and new talent coming up.

Printed that rankings page out old-school style just to have it. Taped it right next to the coffee machine. Now I’m actually informed, can’t wait to see someone try arguing about Hopkins at the shop later – got the receipts ready. Whole thing took less time than my coffee break, felt way more productive than scrolling mindlessly. Gotta do this more often.
