Alright so last weekend I got this idea to check out my local high school football team. Orchard Farm Eagles had a big game and folks at the grocery store were buzzing about some insane touchdown. Figured hey, why not see what the fuss is about? Here’s how it went down.

Started With My Messy Search
First thing I did? Grabbed my tablet while eating cold pizza leftovers. Searched “Orchard Farm football highlights this week” like a regular person would. No fancy sports apps or anything. Took three tries to spell “Orchard” right – fingers kept adding extra R’s.
Found some sketchy looking fan pages first. One video started with some dude’s forehead for half the clip! Seriously man, hold your phone sideways. Saw glimpses of green jerseys between all the shaky camera work though.
The Actual Gold Mine
Then bam! Scrolled past some meme post and found a whole highlight package. Some parent volunteer had edited together all the big plays from Friday’s game against Parkway West. Bless that person honestly.
- Quarter 1: Eagles QB throws an interception – you could hear the crowd groan in the background!
- Second quarter: That massive running back (#33) bulldozed through FOUR defenders. My couch felt the impact
- Wild ending: Last two minutes kept showing the SAME final touchdown from five angles like some bad action movie
What Really Stuck With Me
Finished the whole 12-minute video twice. Love how raw it feels – hearing coaches yell plays, that “thwack” sound of helmets colliding. Makes pro games seem too polished sometimes. Best part? Watching those muddy kids high-fiving the crowd afterward.
Teenagers are wild man. Saw a lineman dancing in the end zone after blocking a field goal. Bet his coach benched him for that celebration but dang was it entertaining!
Final Thoughts
Honestly? Better use of my Sunday than rewatching cooking shows again. Might become my new lazy weekend habit. Those kids play with pure fire. Next week I’m microwaving popcorn first though – cold pizza crumbs in my keyboard.
