Finding the Registration Info
First thing I did was Google “2025 wa state hs basketball tournament” like a normal person. Took forever to find the official website, man those search results are cluttered. Eventually found the WIAA hub buried under ads.
Getting School Approval
Our coach had no clue about the new digital registration system, total nightmare. Printed the eligibility forms myself and chased down teachers for signatures. Almost missed the deadline cause our athletic director forgot to upload them!

Online Registration Nightmare
The portal kept crashing when uploading insurance docs. Took screenshots every time I clicked submit cause it would freeze. Pro tip: do this at 6am when servers aren’t busy. Payment gateway declined our school card three times – turned out coach entered the expiration date wrong.
Qualifying Tournament Chaos
Our district playoffs got rescheduled due to snow. Panicked thinking we’d miss regional deadlines. Called WIAA headquarters directly and they said as long as we faxed bracket results within 24 hours we’d be good. Used the office scanner at 11pm while janitor side-eyed me.
Final Confirmation
Got the team roster email but noticed they misspelled our point guard’s name. Had to call three different administrators to fix it. Moral of the story? Quadruple check everything!
Last step
They finally mailed physical lanyard passes last week. Coach framed the tournament schedule in the gym. Worth the hassle but man – never seen so many forms in my life!
