Alright so today I wanted to figure out when my nephew’s LMU baseball games start next year. Simple question, right? Wrong. Here’s how much effort it actually took:

The Stupid Search Begins
First thing, I typed “LMU baseball 2025 schedule” into the search bar. Like you do. Figured it’d be right there. Nope. Top results were ads for baseball bats and generic NCAA pages. Clicked through three different links claiming to have college schedules – all garbage sites stuffed with pop-ups. Almost threw my laptop.
LMU’s Website Maze
Fine. Went straight to LMU’s official athletics site. Thought this would be easy. Found baseball under “Sports.” Saw “Schedule.” Got excited. Clicked it. BAM – 2024 schedule. Useless. No “Next Season” button, no dropdown for 2025. Just… nothing. Scrolled down. Saw a tiny “Future Schedules” link hiding near the footer. Prayed.
Clicked it. Page loaded slow. Saw “2025 Baseball Schedule Coming Soon” in tiny font. Are you kidding me? It’s already mid-2024! How “soon”? Tried the calendar view too. Stuck on 2024. Refreshed. Nothing.
The Deep Dive Into Forums
Okay. Time to get dirty. Went hunting on fan forums and unofficial athletics blogs. Searched “2025 LMU baseball start date”. Found a thread from last month. Someone asked the same thing. Some random dude replied: “Probably late Feb. Last year was Feb 24.” That’s it? “Probably”? Not good enough.
Clicked another forum post. Saw a guy mention getting his 2025 season tickets already. Sent him a DM asking for dates. Crickets.
Finally… Victory?
Started mashing random links deeper in LMU’s site. Found a PDF labeled “Future Athletics Events Planning Matrix.” Sounded like government paperwork. Opened it. Almost cried. Buried in a table: Baseball – Opening Series: February 14-16, 2025. Valentine’s Day weekend. Seriously? Had to triple-check it wasn’t a placeholder.
Cross-referenced with past schedules – yep, LMU usually starts mid-Feb. Looked up the conference’s official calendar for 2025. Saw LMU penciled in on those dates. Got it.
The “Full” Schedule (Hah)
Then I dug harder in that planning PDF. Scoured for times and opponents. Copied everything down:
- Feb 14: Home opener vs. Pacific, Time TBD
- Feb 15: vs. Pacific, Time TBD
- Feb 21-23: Away @ Stanford
- Feb 28-Mar 2: Tournament (Placeholder)
- …and so on until May Conference Tourney
Feb 16: vs. Pacific, Time TBD
Times literally say “TBD” for the first ten games. Conference games later spring have more slots filled but yeah. Called it a “full schedule”? Whatever, LMU. At least we know when pitchers and catchers report matters more than when fans get info.
All that clicking and swearing just to find a date locked in some admin’s spreadsheet. Gotta love college sports sites. Never easy. Never will be. Anyway. February 14th. Tell your nephew.
