West Liberty High School Football Schedule Check Out Latest Games & Dates Here!

This morning I sat down with my coffee, thinking it would be super simple to check our local high school’s football schedule. First thing I did? Grabbed my phone and opened Google. Typed in “West Liberty High football” expecting a nice calendar to pop right up.

Where’s the dang schedule?

Started clicking through random school pages feeling like a detective. Went to the athletics section – just saw last season’s scores. Checked the calendar tab – nada but teacher meetings. Even scrolled through their news feed where they mentioned pizza fundraisers but zero game dates.

Felt like I was chasing my own tail when I remembered something:

High schools usually post schedules when school starts!

Called up my neighbor Dave whose kid plays JV. “Oh yeah!” he says, “Coach sends PDF schedules through the parent group chat.” Felt like an idiot forgetting how this stuff actually works around here.

My solution path

Here’s exactly how I got the real schedule:

  • Emailed the athletic director – took two tries but got reply next morning
  • Joined booster club Facebook group where coach posts updates
  • Checked locker room bulletin board when dropping off cleats
  • Asked cashier at concession stand during practice (she had printed copies!)

Turns out home opener’s Sept 6 against Muscatine – wouldn’t know that from their website. Season ends Nov 1 against Durant if playoffs don’t happen. Whole thing reminded me how small towns actually share info – buried in human connections, not some flashy webpage.

Now that orange schedule paper’s magneted to my fridge looking all official. Might scan it and email the AD to suggest they upload it. Or maybe not – kinda like how our town keeps some things analog.
