Alright, guys, so today I dove into something I’ve been meaning to do for a while – a fantasy football mock draft. Gotta get prepped for the real deal, you know? It’s never too early to start strategizing!

Getting Started
>
First things first, I needed to find a platform. After checking around, I decided to use one of the popluar websites. I’ve used it before for regular fantasy leagues, so I figured it would be easy enough to navigate.
I hopped onto the site, found the mock draft section, and joined a random 12-team league. Standard scoring, nothing fancy. Just wanted to get a feel for where players are being drafted this year.
The Draft
- Round 1: The first round was what you would expect. The big names were first. I was picking at number 8, so I wasn’t expecting to get one of the top guys. When it got me, I grabbed a solid running back. Always good to have a reliable RB1.
- Rounds 2-5: These middle rounds are where things get interesting. This is where you can really find some value and build out your team’s depth. I tried to balance getting good players with positions, grabbing a mix of wide receivers, another running back, and even my quarterback. It’s so hard to decide.
- Rounds 6-10: Okay, this is where it gets tricky, and frankly, a little stressful. I was starting to see the talent pool thin out, and I was desperately trying to fill my roster spots without reaching too much for players. I picked up a tight end here, and a couple more receivers.
- Rounds 11-15: Defense and kicker time! I always wait until the very end for these. Also grabbed some backup players.
After the Draft
Once the draft was over, I took a good, hard look at my team. I mean, it’s a mock draft, so it’s not like it’s the end of the world if I messed up. But I did get a better sense of player values and where I might need to adjust my strategy for the real draft.
I think I went a little heavy on wide receivers, and I might have waited a bit too long to grab my tight end. But hey, that’s what mock drafts are for, right? Practice makes perfect!
Overall, it was a good experience. Gets the blood pumping and the brain thinking about fantasy football. Can’t wait for the actual season to start!
