Alright, so today I decided to get my feet wet with a fantasy football mock draft. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, just to get a feel for where players might be going and to test out some different strategies.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed to find a platform. i look around and chose a platform.
Once I picked one, I jumped into a mock draft lobby. I think it was a 12-team league, standard scoring. The cool thing is, you can usually customize these settings to match your actual league, which is super helpful.
The Draft Begins
My draft position? I think I was, like, 8th or 9th. Not ideal, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? You gotta adapt.
In the first couple of rounds, I played it pretty safe. I grabbed a couple of running backs I felt good about – guys who I knew would get a lot of touches. Nothing too flashy, just solid picks.
- Round 1: a running back
- Round 2: another running back
Mid-Draft Mayhem
The middle rounds are where things get interesting. This is where you can really make or break your team.
I tried to focus on finding value, you know, those players who might be overlooked but have a ton of potential.
I made sure to grab a decent quarterback – someone reliable, but I didn’t reach too early. I also focused on loading up on wide receivers. There’s so much depth at that position, you can find some real gems in the later rounds.
Late-Round Gambles
As the draft wound down, I started taking some chances. I picked up a rookie running back who’s been getting some hype, and a tight end who could be a breakout candidate.
You need to select a kicker and a defense/special teams unit, too. I usually wait until the very last rounds for those.
Wrapping it up
After the draft ended, I took a look at my roster. Overall, I was pretty happy with it. It’s not perfect, of course, but that’s the point of a mock draft – to experiment and learn. It also let me see some of the other guys who might be my competitors.
I definitely learned a few things. I think I waited too long to grab a tight end, and I might have reached a bit early on a wide receiver or two. But hey, that’s what these practice runs are for!
I’m probably going to do a few more of these before my real draft. It’s a great way to get prepared and feel confident going into the season. Plus, it’s just fun!
