Okay, so I decided to do a mock fantasy football draft today, PPR scoring. I’ve been wanting to get a feel for where players are going, and honestly, I just love the draft process. It’s like a puzzle, trying to build the best team possible.

First thing I did was fire up my favorite fantasy football site. I created a mock draft lobby, set it to PPR, and waited for it to fill up. It only took a few minutes – seems like everyone is itching for football season!
I randomly got assigned the 5th pick. Not my favorite spot, but hey, you gotta roll with the punches. I spent a few minutes before the draft started looking at some average draft position (ADP) data. Gotta have some sort of plan, right?
The Draft Begins!
The first four picks went pretty much as expected: a couple of top running backs and then, Justin Jefferson. That means no top top RBs are left
- I was staring at a decision between, Bijan Robinson, and a few other top-tier wide receivers.
- In the end, I grabbed Bijan.
The next few rounds were a blur. I focused on grabbing value where I saw it. There was a run on quarterbacks a bit earlier than I expected, which kind of threw me off, but I managed to snag Dak later on.
I made sure to grab some high-upside running backs in the middle rounds. You know, those guys who might not be starters right now, but could explode if the guy in front of them gets hurt. Gotta have those lottery tickets!
I also prioritized wide receivers who get a ton of targets. In PPR, those guys are gold. Catches, catches, catches – that’s the name of the game.
Late Rounds and Sleepers
The late rounds are where you can really find some gems. I dug deep, looking for players with good situations, maybe on a new team or with a clearer path to playing time. I even took a flier on a rookie tight end who’s been getting some buzz.
Finally, I filled out my roster with a kicker and a defense. I don’t usually spend much draft capital on those positions, so I waited until the very end.
After it was all over, I sat back and looked at my team. It wasn’t perfect, but I felt pretty good about it. I had a solid mix of proven veterans and high-upside youngsters. I even had some depth at running back, which is crucial.
Of course, it’s just a mock draft. The real thing might go completely differently. But it was a fun exercise, and it definitely helped me get a better feel for player values and draft strategies. Now, I’m even more hyped for the actual fantasy season to start!
