Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with one of those NFL mock draft simulators. I’ve seen people online talking about them, and it sounded like a fun way to kill some time and pretend I’m a general manager for a day.

First thing I did was just a simple search. Typed in “24 NFL mock draft simulator” and, boom, tons of options popped up. I picked one that looked pretty straightforward – didn’t want anything too complicated.
Once I got to the simulator, I had to make some choices. I chose my favorite team. I mean, who wouldn’t want to control their own team’s destiny, right?
Then came the actual draft. The simulator presented me with a draft board, showing the current pick, available players, and my team’s needs. It felt a little overwhelming at first, all these names and stats flashing on the screen.
- The first round, that should be focused on need rather than best player available, because that’s where the most needs get filled.
- Second Round, I just went with the best player available, figuring that’s where you start looking for hidden gems.
- Third Round and beyond, it got trickier. I really had to think, “Okay, do I need a backup quarterback, more depth at linebacker, or what?”
The trading game
The simulator also gave me the option to trade * is where it got really interesting. I got a couple of offers for my first-round pick, and it was tempting to take them and get more picks later on. But I decided to hold firm and take a player I really wanted.
The Excitement of the Pick
It was a virtual draft pick. Seeing my team’s logo pop up, and the name of the player I selected – it was a rush. I went through all seven rounds, making picks, trying to fill needs, and even making a couple of trades to move up or down the board.
Once the draft was over, the simulator gave me a draft grade. That felt pretty good, even though it’s all just a simulation.
So, that was my experience with an NFL mock draft simulator. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon, and it definitely made me think about all the decisions that go into building a football team. I can see why people get into these things!
