Okay, so I decided to get a jump start on my fantasy football prep for the 2024 season. You know, gotta get that edge! I’m in a PPR (points per reception) league, so those rankings are super important. Here’s how I went about building my initial 2024 rankings.

Started with the Basics
First, I grabbed a notebook and a pen. Yeah, I’m old school like that. I could’ve used a spreadsheet, but I like scribbling things down initially. It helps me think.
Then, I jotted down the positions: QB, RB, WR, TE, K, DEF. Pretty standard stuff.
Gathering Intel
I started brainstorming, thinking about players who were beasts last year, rookies with huge potential, and guys coming back from injuries. I made separate lists, for example, “Breakout Candidates” and “Injury Risks” to sort my thoughts.
Deep Diving into Players
Next, I spent hours, seriously hours, researching players individually. I looked at their stats from last year, focusing on targets, receptions, and yards. I also factored in the stuff that can change the game, like how a new offensive coordinator may completely change the game plan.
For each position, I started by rank the players into groups. For example, players that I thought could be top players are recorded separately.
Putting It All Together
Finally, I started putting together my actual rankings. I went back and forth on a few guys, moving them up or down based on all the info I’d gathered. It’s not perfect, but it’s a solid starting point. And that is how I created my fantasy football rankings for the 2024 PPR.
