Alright, folks, let’s dive into something I messed around with today: NFL quarterback rankings. I’m no expert, just a guy who likes football and playing with data, so bear with me.

Getting My Hands Dirty
First things first, I needed some data. So I went and grabbed some stats. Think of things like passing yards, touchdowns, interceptions, completion percentage – you know, the usual stuff that tells you how well a quarterback is slinging the ball.
Wrangling the Data
Now, the data wasn’t all pretty and organized. It was kinda like a messy room, so I had to tidy it up. I used some basic spreadsheet tools, and there was a bit of copying and pasting to get everything into a format I could actually work with.
Making Sense of It All
Once the data was all cleaned up, I started to think about what makes a good quarterback, in my opinion. Of course, touchdowns are great, and interceptions are bad. I played around with some simple formulas, giving more weight to some stats and less to others. It was all pretty subjective, just me deciding what I thought was important.
- More points for yards and touchdowns.
- Penalize for those interceptions!.
The Result (My Take)
After all that tinkering, I ended up with a ranked *’s not scientific, and it’s probably not perfect, but it was fun to create my own little ranking system. I could see which quarterbacks came out on top based on my made-up formula. It gave me a new appreciation for just how much data is out there and how you can, massage it into a story you want.
It will be good to see other ones and compare, that will be for another day.
