Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with one of those 2024 NFL Draft mock simulators. I’ve seen a bunch of them online, and it seemed like a fun way to kill some time and, you know, pretend I’m a general manager for a day.
First, I needed to find a simulator. I just googled “2024 NFL mock draft simulator” and a few popped up.I just picked the first one because it looked okay.
I started the simulator. It was pretty straightforward. They gave me a team (randomly, I think) and put me on the clock.
The First Round
- My first pick came up, and I had to figure out who to draft. The site had a list of all the top players, with some basic info like their position, college, and maybe some stats.
- I scrolled through the list, looking at the available players. I was trying to balance what my team needed with who was the best player available, that sort of thing.
- It took a bit of thinking, but I made my first pick! It felt kinda cool, even though it’s just a simulation.
Then, you just wait for the other “teams” (the computer) to make their picks. There was a little timer running, so it didn’t take too long. You could see the picks scrolling by, like “The Chicago Bears select…” kind of thing.
Later Rounds
This kept going, round after round. Honestly, after the first couple of rounds, I started recognizing fewer and fewer names. But that’s part of the fun, right? Discovering these potential future stars.
I tried to keep track of what positions I’d already drafted and what I still needed. I mean, you don’t want, like, five quarterbacks, right? It’s all about building a balanced team.
After seven rounds, it was done! The simulator gave me a little summary of my draft class, all the players I’d picked. It’s a little addictive. I might have run through it a couple more times with different teams, just to see how things could play out.
It was a good time. I recommend giving it a try if you’re an NFL fan.
