2024 Mock Draft for Fantasy Football: Get a Head Start!

Alright, so I decided to jump into a 2024 fantasy football mock draft today. Just wanted to see where players might be going and get a feel for the draft landscape. Here’s how it went down:

2024 Mock Draft for Fantasy Football: Get a Head Start!

First, I found a free mock draft simulator online. There are a bunch of them out there, but I just picked one that looked easy to use.

Then, I set up the draft parameters. I went with a standard 12-team league, PPR scoring (points per reception), and the usual roster positions: QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, TE, Flex, K, DEF. Nothing too crazy there.

The Draft Begins!

I randomly got assigned the 5th pick, which I was pretty happy with. Not too early, not too late.

  • Round 1: With the 5th pick, I was ecstatic to see that I can get a good player, So, I snapped him up.
  • Round 2: I see that some good RB and WR are available, I grabbed the best available.
  • Rounds 3-5: I focused on loading up on more RBs and WRs. I tried to balance getting proven guys with some younger players who have upside.
  • Middle Rounds: This is where I started looking at QBs and TEs. The top-tier guys were long gone, so I waited until I felt like I was getting good value. I ended up with a QB and TE that I’m pretty comfortable with, even if they aren’t superstars.
  • Later Rounds: I filled out my roster with a kicker and defense. I also took some chances on some deep sleepers – guys who are probably going undrafted in most leagues but could surprise everyone. You never know!

After the draft, the simulator gave my team a grade. It said that I made a “B+” grade, which I’ll take! It’s just a mock draft, of course, but it gave me a better sense of player values and where I might need to adjust my strategy in future drafts.

Overall, it was a fun exercise. I recommend trying a mock draft if you’re prepping for your fantasy football season. It helps you get familiar with the player pool and think through different draft scenarios.

Now I gotta do a few more of these before the real draft!
