2024 Fantasy Rankings NFL: Get Your Cheat Sheet Here Now!

Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, written in the style you requested, about my experience creating 2024 fantasy football rankings:

2024 Fantasy Rankings NFL: Get Your Cheat Sheet Here Now!

Alright, so I started this whole 2024 fantasy football rankings thing like I always do – with a giant cup of coffee and a completely blank spreadsheet. Seriously, staring at that empty sheet is the most intimidating part. It’s like, where do you even begin?

First thing I did was pull up last year’s stats. I’m not just talking about the basic stuff like total points. Nah, I dug deep. I looked at things like targets, yards per carry, catch rate… you name it, I probably looked at it. Gotta get a good baseline, you know?

Then came the fun part – watching tape! Okay, maybe “fun” is a strong word. It’s more like… necessary torture. I spent hours watching game film from last season, trying to figure out which players looked like they were about to break out, and which ones were starting to show their age.

Adding new data

Then, the news started rolling in. Free agency moves, draft picks, coaching changes… it’s all a big mess of information that you have to sort through. Every time a big trade happened, I was like, “Okay, back to the spreadsheet!” I had to adjust my projections based on where guys landed and who their new teammates were.

  • QB: How good is their arm? How’s their accuracy?
  • RB: Good vision? Can he get positive yards after contact?
  • WR: Route running, secure hands.
  • TE: Same as WR’s, basically, plus do they offer any YAC?

The hardest part is probably trying to predict rookies. I mean, some of these guys, you’re basically going off of college highlights and what some “expert” on TV said. It’s a total crapshoot, but you gotta make some educated guesses. I’d rather have a good take.

After all that – the stats, the film, the news, the endless tweaking – I finally had something that resembled a ranking list. It’s not perfect, of course. Fantasy football is way too unpredictable for that. But I feel pretty good about it. It’s a solid starting point, and I’ll keep adjusting it as we get closer to the season. I printed it and now I have to see how it performs.

So yeah, that’s my process. It’s a grind, but I love it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need another cup of coffee…
