Win Big: Use This PPR Fantasy Football Mock Draft Guide.

Alright, so I decided to get my feet wet with a PPR fantasy football mock draft today. I’ve been hearing a lot about how important these are for prepping, so I figured, why not?

Win Big: Use This PPR Fantasy Football Mock Draft Guide.

First things first, I needed to find a platform. I just googled around and chose one of those free mock draft websites. Nothing fancy, I just wanted to get a feel for it.

Once I got in, I joined a random lobby. There were like 12 “people” in there – probably mostly bots, to be honest, but it’s still good practice. I think I got assigned, like, the 5th pick or something. Didn’t really pay too much attention to that part.

My Draft Strategy (or Lack Thereof)

Honestly, I didn’t have a super strict plan. I know in PPR, you want to grab those pass-catching running backs and, of course, wide receivers. So, I was kinda keeping an eye out for those guys.

  • Round 1: I went with a pretty solid running back. I won’t name names, but he’s known for getting a lot of receptions. Felt good about that.
  • Rounds 2-4: I tried to balance things out. I think I grabbed a receiver, another running back, and maybe a tight end. It’s all a little blurry now, to be honest. I was just clicking buttons.
  • Middle Rounds: This is where I started to feel a bit lost. There were so many names I didn’t recognize! I just tried to pick guys who seemed to have decent projections next to their names. I also looked position by postion player’s ranking list.
  • Late Rounds: Total crapshoot. I think I grabbed a kicker and a defense way too early, which is probably a rookie mistake. Everyone says to wait on those, but whatever. I had filled my beanch.

The Results and Reflection

After it was all over, the website gave me some sort of grade, like a C+ or something. I’m not taking it too seriously. The main point was to get familiar with the flow of a draft and see where players are generally being picked.

I definitely learned a few things. Like, I need to do way more research on those mid-round guys. And I should probably read up on some actual draft strategies instead of just winging it. Overall It’s helpful for my real draft preparation and now I can see which players are really worth to be selected.

I’ll probably do a few more of these before my actual league draft. Practice makes perfect, right? Or at least, practice makes you slightly less clueless. Now I want to practice more!
