Well, let me tell ya, this whole NFL thing in Brazil, it’s somethin’ else. I heard folks down there, they really like them Green Bay Packers. Green Bay Packers, yeah, that’s the name. Don’t ask me why, I ain’t got a clue. Some fella, a big shot I guess, name of Murphy, he says they’re real popular down there. He’s the boss man of the Packers, so maybe he knows somethin’.
Now, I reckon these Brazilians, they love their own football, you know, the kind with the feet? They got millions of folks playin’ it, all over the place. But this American football, it’s catchin’ on, seems like. And the Packers, they’re right in the middle of it. This Gustavo fella, he says the Packers are one of the most popular teams in Brazil. Must be somethin’ special about ’em.
They’re gonna have a real game down there, in Brazil. The Packers and the Eagles, fightin’ it out. The NFL folks, they think Brazil is a big deal, wanna make this football thing go global, they say. So, they’re sendin’ the Packers down there. Makes sense, I guess, if they’re so darn popular.
- So, why the Packers? I ain’t got the foggiest. Maybe they got good players, I don’t know.
- Maybe they got pretty uniforms, those green and yellow things.
- Or maybe it’s just luck, who knows? Sometimes things just happen, no rhyme or reason.
But one thing’s for sure, them Brazilians, they seem to like the Packers. And the NFL, they’re happy about it. They wanna sell their game to the whole world, and Brazil, well, it’s a big country. Lots of folks there, lots of potential fans.
This fella Murphy, he seems real proud of the Packers bein’ popular in Brazil. Says they got four of them Super Bowl thingies. Guess that’s important. I don’t know much about it, but if the Brazilians like it, must be good.
I heard they got like 2.1 million football players in Brazil, that’s a whole lotta folks kickin’ balls around. And they got clubs, too, thousands of ’em. Football is a big deal down there. It’s in their blood, you could say. And now, the Packers are part of it, somehow. Seems kinda strange, but that’s how it is.
So, if you’re ever down in Brazil, and you see some folks wearin’ green and yellow, don’t be surprised. They might be cheerin’ for the Packers. And if they ask you about it, just tell ’em, “Well, I heard they’re the most popular NFL team in your neck of the woods.” That oughta do it. And if they ask why? well you tell em, “I don’t know, just is”. No need to get all fancy with the explanations.
Now, I ain’t gonna sit here and pretend I understand all this. I’m just tellin’ you what I heard. Folks down there in Brazil, they seem to like them Packers. And that’s good enough for me. It’s a big world, and people like all sorts of different things. This American football, the Packers, it’s just one more thing to add to the mix.
From what I gather, it ain’t just the Packers neither. There are other teams they like too, but the Packers, they seem to be the top dogs right now. The NFL is pushing hard to get more popular down there. And with the Packers leadin’ the charge, maybe they’ll succeed. Who knows? Only time will tell, I reckon.
