Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with one of those NFL mock draft simulators, you know, for fantasy football. I’ve been getting more into fantasy lately, and I figured this would be a fun way to kill some time and maybe learn a thing or two.

First, I just googled “NFL mock draft simulator fantasy.” There are a ton of these things out there, it’s kinda crazy. I picked one that looked pretty straightforward – didn’t want anything too complicated for my first try. I am not gonna mention a name, and you shouldn’t either.
Getting Started
The website I chose had a big, obvious “Start Draft” button. I hit that, obviously. Then it asked me a few things, stuff I should type in.
- League Size: I went with a standard 12-team league. Seemed like a good, round number.
- Scoring: I just stuck with the default PPR (points per reception) settings. I’m still learning all the different scoring options, so I didn’t want to get fancy.
- Roster Positions: It had the usual QB, RB, WR, TE, Flex, Kicker, Defense/Special Teams setup. Nothing weird there.
The Draft Itself
Once I got all that set, the draft started up. It was pretty cool! It felt like a real draft, even though it was just me against the computer. The interface was pretty easy to figure out, too.
I used it to choose and type in all the positions that I wanted. I got a list. There was this big list of available players on the side, with their projected stats and rankings and stuff. I could also see what positions the other “teams” (the computer) were picking, so I could get a sense of what might be available in later rounds. It was exciting.
Honestly, I mostly just went with the players I recognized and liked. I’m a big fan, so I grabbed a good QB. Then I made sure to get some solid running backs and wide receivers. I probably reached a little bit for some of my favorite players, but hey, it’s just for fun, right?
The whole thing took maybe 20 or 30 minutes. It went by pretty fast! It’s kind of addicting, watching your team come together like that.
After the Draft
Once the draft was over, the site gave me a little summary of my team. It even gave me a grade! I think I got a B- or something. Not bad for a first-timer, I guess!
I also got some suggestions. It also showed me some projections for how my team might do in a real season. Obviously, it’s all just pretend, but it’s still fun to look at.
Overall, I’d say this was a pretty cool experience. I might even try it again later with some different settings, or maybe even try a different simulator website. It’s a good way to get a feel for the players and the draft process, even if you’re not a fantasy football expert.
