Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this fella, C.J. Stroud. Folks keep talkin’ ’bout him and that basketball thing.

The Amazing Basketball Past of C.J. Stroud: A Dual Threat Athlete

Now, I ain’t never seen the boy play ball myself, but from what I hear, he’s a pretty good shooter. They say he’s got some fancy moves and can make that ball go right through the hoop.

This Stroud fella, he’s the quarterback for them Houston Texans, plays that football game. But seems like he’s got a history with basketball too. Grew up somewhere in California, Rancho Cucamonga, they call it. Probably lots of sunshine there, good for growin’ oranges, maybe good for hoopin’ too.

  • He played basketball in high school, that’s what they say.
  • Folks talkin’ ’bout his basketball skills, like he’s some kind of superstar.

Now, they had this All-Star Celebrity game, whatever that is, and seems like Stroud showed off his skills there. Team Stephen A., they called it. Don’t know who Stephen A. is, but he must be important.

Some folks sayin’ he could “cook everyone” on the court. That’s just fancy talk for playin’ real good. I guess he’s good at runnin’ and jumpin’ and all that. Makes sense, I reckon, if he’s throwin’ that football around, gotta be strong and quick.

He’s got a good arm, that’s for sure. Threw that football for a bunch of yards, like 470 or somethin’, and five touchdowns. Helped his team win a game, 39-37. That’s a lot of points, more than my old rooster used to crow in a day.

But here’s the thing, this boy done said his basketball days are over. He’s focused on that football now. Probably makin’ a whole heap of money doin’ that. Can’t blame him, gotta make a livin’ somehow.

They drafted him, see? Second pick overall, by the Texans. Another boy, Bryce Young, went first. Don’t know much about him, but I heard he’s good too. Anyways, this Stroud fella, he seems like a good kid. Thanks Jesus Christ all the time, they say. That’s nice, shows he’s got a good heart.

They also talk about this “C.J.” name, wonderin’ what the “J” stands for. Some say it’s for junior, but nobody really knows for sure. His mama just gave him that name, and that’s that. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, I say. My mama gave me a name, and I ain’t complainin’.

So, this C.J. Stroud, he’s a football player now, a good one at that. And while he might have been good at basketball back in the day, seems like he’s hangin’ up his sneakers for now. He’s got bigger fish to fry, as they say.

C.J. Stroud’s basketball days might be over, but people still remember him playing. They got videos and stories and all that. He’s got those highlights from high school, Rancho Cucamonga High School. Probably scored a bunch of points, made some fancy passes.

Seems like everywhere he goes, folks wanna talk about that basketball. Even when he’s playin’ football, they bring it up. I guess when you’re good at somethin’, people just can’t forget it.

But football’s where the money’s at, I reckon. That’s where he’s makin’ his name now. Maybe someday when he’s old and grey, he’ll pick up that basketball again, just for fun. But for now, he’s a football man, through and through.

So that’s the story of C.J. Stroud and his basketball past, as far as I can tell. He’s a good football player, a good kid, and that’s all that matters. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed my chickens.
