Sebastian Perez Baseball: Rising Star or Just Hype?

Alright, let’s talk about this young fella, Sebastian Perez, plays baseball, you know? I ain’t no expert, but I watch a game or two when the chores are done. Heard some folks chatterin’ ’bout him, so I figured I’d tell ya what I know, or what I reckon I know, anyways.

Sebastian Perez Baseball: Rising Star or Just Hype?

Who is this Sebastian Perez kid?

Well, from what I gather, there’s a couple of Sebastian Perezes playin’ ball. One of ’em, they say he’s a pitcher, a righty, throws the ball hard, I guess. Born in 2004, that makes him… let me see… still wet behind the ears, if you ask me. Big boy though, 6 foot 5, weighs a good 229 pounds. He’s from Hialeah, wherever that is. Sounds fancy.

Then there’s another one, younger, born in 2006. This one’s from San Juan de la Maguana, sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? They say he got hurt, put on some kinda “injured list” for 60 days. Poor fella. He’s smaller, 5 foot 5, skinny as a rail, only 111 pounds. But they say he’s quick, like a squirrel, you know? Moves fast.

  • One Sebastian Perez is a big pitcher, born in 2004.
  • Another Sebastian Perez is smaller and younger, born in 2006.

What do they say about their playing?

The big fella, the pitcher, they say he’s a relief pitcher. That means he comes in when the other pitcher gets tired, I think. He throws right-handed, and like I said, he’s a big ‘un. They got numbers for how fast he throws, but them numbers don’t mean much to me. Faster the better, I always say.

The little fella, they say he’s athletic, moves quick. They saw him in battin’ practice, said he looked good. Guess he can hit the ball alright. But he got hurt, so maybe he ain’t playin’ no more, or maybe he is, I don’t rightly know. Injuries, they plague these young fellas, always pushin’ themselves too hard.

Where have they played?

The older one, he’s been playin’ somewhere called Southwest Ranches, and they talk about him being with the DSL Rays. Don’t know what that means, some kinda team I reckon. The younger fella, he was with the DSL Tampa Bay team, but then he got hurt, like I said. Poor boy.

Anything else?

I heard tell of one Sebastian Perez playin’ in a wild game, went 10 innings. St. Thomas Aquinas team beat West Broward. Don’t know if it was the big one or the little one, or maybe a whole ‘nother Sebastian Perez altogether! Too many of ’em, if you ask me. Confusin’ for an old lady like myself.

Some folks say there’s a top baseball prospect, and he’s got a flaw in his game. They gotta fix it, they say. Don’t know if that’s one of these Perez fellas or somebody else entirely. But it just goes to show ya, even the best of ’em got things to work on. Just like me tryin’ to get them weeds out of the garden, never-ending battle, it is.

Anyway, that’s about all I know ’bout this Sebastian Perez, or these Sebastian Perezes. They play baseball, one’s big, one’s small, one got hurt. Young fellas, tryin’ to make a name for themselves. Hope they do alright, bless their hearts.

In short, we got two Sebastian Perezes in baseball, a big pitcher and a smaller, younger player. Both seem talented, but one got injured. It’s hard to keep track of all these young players, but they’re out there giving it their all, and that’s what counts.
