Okay, so today I wanted to mess around and see if I could stream some NFL games. I’m not a huge football fan, but I figured it might be fun to try and watch a game or two without paying a dime.
First, I grabbed my laptop and started searching around. Turns out, there are a bunch of ways to watch these games online. But a lot of them cost money, like those fancy streaming services. And I wasn’t about to sign up for cable or anything like that. I mean, who even has cable these days, right?
So, I kept digging. I found out that the NFL has its own app and channel, which is kinda cool. They show some live stuff and replays, which is neat. But it’s not like you can watch every single game live for free. Still, it’s something, I guess.
Then, I stumbled upon some info about the NFL Network. Apparently, it’s on some of those live TV streaming services. But again, you gotta pay for those. There’s this thing called NFL Plus, which is the NFL’s own streaming thing. It’s cheaper than the other services, like seven bucks a month, but you still gotta pay. Plus, it sounded like you could only watch on your phone or computer, which is a bummer if you want to watch on your big TV.

I even looked into those TV reception maps from the Federal Communications Commission. They show you what stations you can get in your area. But even with an antenna, it’s not guaranteed you’ll get all the games. I started to feel like maybe watching football for free wasn’t gonna be as easy as I thought.
After spending a good chunk of my day on this, I realized that streaming NFL games usually means you gotta pay up. There are some free options here and there, but they’re pretty limited. Guess if I really wanted to watch, I’d have to decide if it was worth opening my wallet. For now, I’m just gonna stick with the free highlights and replays on the NFL app. Maybe next time I’ll try to figure out how to watch a game on a friend’s paid service or something. But man, it’s definitely not as simple as I thought it would be!
