Oh, this NFL thing, it’s somethin’ else, ain’t it? This year, seems like folks are all riled up about it. It’s that time again, you know. That NFL hype, they call it. All them young fellas, runnin’ around, tryin’ to catch that ball. Lordy, it’s a sight to see. Some folks say it is mandatory minicamps underway, I don’t know what that means. I just know when the NFL season comes around, everyone gets excited. Reminds me of the time when I was a little girl, we’d all get excited about the county fair. Different kind of excitement, but still…excitement.
They say some teams, they got some new players. Strong ones, fast ones. Hope they don’t get hurt, though. Them boys, they run so hard. It’s like that time little Timmy fell off his bicycle, bless his heart. He wanted to be the fastest one on the block. Ended up with a scraped knee and a whole lot of tears. This NFL hype, it makes these young’uns wanna be the best. Good for them, I say. As long as they don’t hurt themselves.
I heard them talking about, 32 teams, they say. That’s a whole lot of teams. And they all want to win. Like when we used to play bingo at the church hall. Everybody wanted that jackpot. Some players, they get better every year. Like that one player, he enjoyed a career year last year, they said. He must be somethin’ special. That’s what this NFL hype does, it makes everyone pay attention to these players. Just like when farmer Johnson’s prize-winning pig won the blue ribbon. Everyone wanted to see that pig.
- They say, free agency, and NFL Draft. Sounds important, I reckon.
- It’s like pickin’ the best apples from the tree. You want the good ones, the ones that ain’t got no worms.
- They want NFL-ready players.
- Those teams, they all have questions, they said. Like when you are tryin’ to figure out a recipe.
Chicago, that’s a big city, ain’t it? They say the NFL hype train is runnin’ there. Must be a lot of folks excited about their team. Just like when the circus came to town, everyone was all a-buzz. I reckon that city is just buzzing now with all the NFL hype. Chicago, that’s a place I ain’t never been. Too big for me. But it seems to be a great place for NFL.
They got these other teams, Lions, they call ’em. They say history awaits them. That’s a big word, history. It is all about the NFL hype, they say. Makes me think of old Mr. Henderson, he used to tell stories about the old days. He said he was making history. I reckon these Lions, they want to make their own history. Hope they do, too. It’s good to have something to aim for.
Then there’s these other teams, Bills and Chiefs. Sounds like a couple of fellas I used to know down by the creek. They got this NFL hype too, it seems. They say, “Will Bills-Chiefs live up to the hype?” I don’t know who they are, but I hope they do well. Everybody likes a good game, don’t they? Reminds me of them pie-eating contests at the fair. Everyone’s watchin’, hopin’ to see somethin’ exciting.
They say these young fellas, only a few of them make it big, to professional level. It’s like winnin’ the lottery, I reckon. Hard to do, but if you do, it’s somethin’ special. It’s like my tomatoes, I only got a few good ones this year, but the ones I got, they’re the best I ever had. Those NFL players, they must work hard. Just like me out in the garden, tendin’ to my plants.
This NFL hype, it’s somethin’, ain’t it? Gets everyone talkin’, everyone excited. It’s like a big storm brewin’, you can feel it in the air. I hope everyone has fun, and nobody gets hurt. And I hope them teams, they all do their best. After all, that’s what it’s all about, ain’t it? Doin’ your best, and enjoyin’ the game.
It’s going to be preseason soon. That is what they said. NFL calendar, I don’t know what that is, but the NFL hype, I know that. It’s like the smell of fresh-baked bread, you just know it’s there. I guess I’ll be hearin’ more about this NFL thing in the comin’ days. It’s all anyone’s gonna be talkin’ about, I reckon. Just like when the new preacher came to town, everyone had somethin’ to say about him. Yep, this NFL hype, it’s here to stay, at least for a while.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about this NFL hype. It’s a lot of fuss over a game, but folks sure do love it. And who am I to judge? We all need somethin’ to get excited about, don’t we? Just like my grandkids, they get all excited about their video games. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. But I still believe this NFL hype will be the greatest thing in this year.
