Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this NFL draft thing, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. I jumped in headfirst, you know, the whole nine yards.

First off, I started by checking out who got picked. There are 257 players, man, that’s a lot of names to remember! I was curious to see how the teams did, so I dug into those draft grades everyone’s talking about. That’s where the fun began.
Then I watched as the first round picks were made. They were analyzing each pick live, which was pretty cool. I was trying to figure out which teams were making smart moves and all that. Some picks had me scratching my head, not gonna lie.
After the whole thing was over, I read that the draft lasted from Thursday to Saturday. That’s a long time! I found some articles breaking down each team’s picks and even tried to figure out if these grades really mean anything. There’s this guy, Steve Makinen, who says draft grades aren’t all that useful for predicting how a team will do. Made me think, you know?
I also looked into some “expert” opinions, just to see what they were saying. This one guy, Luke Easterling, was rating each pick. It was interesting to see how he thought each player would fit into their new teams. Some picks are considered “hidden gems,” like this Joey Porter Jr. guy going to the Steelers. Sounds like a steal!
But here’s the kicker: even though people make a big deal about these draft grades, it doesn’t seem like they really tell you who’s going to win or lose. It’s like, getting an “A+” doesn’t guarantee you’ll win, and getting an “F” doesn’t mean you’ll lose. So, what’s the point, right? And apparently, the most accurate draft expert out there is this Jared Smola dude. Good for him, I guess.
I am gonna try to make my own mock draft and have fun with it.
So yeah, that’s been my adventure with the NFL draft. It’s a lot to take in, but it’s kinda fun to see all the hype and try to make sense of it all. I might even try to make my own mock draft next year, just for kicks.
