Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with fantasy football stuff, specifically looking at PPR scoring. I’ve always heard people talk about it, but never really dug in myself.

What I Did First
First, I grabbed my league’s settings from last year. You know, just to get a baseline. I opened up the website and found the part that showed all the scoring rules.
Figuring Out the Numbers
Then I spent some time looking at player stats from last season. I wanted to see how different guys would have scored with PPR versus without it. I pulled up a bunch of player pages and started doing some quick math in my head. Pretty rough, but it gave me a general idea.
The Spreadsheet Action
After that, I decided to get a little more organized. I opened up a spreadsheet – nothing fancy, just something to keep track of things. I started putting in player names, their receiving stats (receptions, yards, touchdowns), and then calculated their scores with and without the PPR point.
- Column 1: Player Name
- Column 2: Receptions
- Column 3: Receiving Yards
- Column 4: Receiving TDs
- Column 5: non-ppr socre
- Column 6: ppr socre
Seeing the Difference
It was actually pretty interesting to see the difference. Some running backs who catch a lot of passes really jumped up in value. And some wide receivers who maybe don’t get a ton of yards but have a lot of catches, they became way more valuable too.
My Takeaway (So Far)
Honestly, it’s just a different way of looking at things. It makes you think about roster construction a little differently. I’m definitely going to keep messing around with this and see how it might change my draft strategy this year. PPR definitely makes those pass-catching guys more important!
