Alright, listen up y’all, let me tell ya ’bout this CU Buffs Basketball Camp thing. I ain’t no expert, ya know, just tellin’ it like I see it.

So, this camp, it’s for kids, right? Little ones and bigger ones too, I reckon. They got all sorts of camps, like, they say “Individual Camp”, sounds fancy, huh? Well, it just means they teach the kids how to play basketball. You know, throw the ball, dribble it, all that stuff. They do it with games and little competitions, so the young’uns don’t get bored, I guess. Kids these days, gotta keep ’em entertained, ya know?
Then there’s this “Little Dribblers Camp”. Sounds cute, right? That’s for the real small ones, the ones who ain’t never played before, or maybe the ones who can’t handle a whole day of runnin’ around. They just learn the basics, ya know? How to bounce the ball, the rules of the game, stuff like that. Half-day camp, that’s enough for them little fellas, probably get tuckered out pretty quick.
And if your kid thinks they’re all that and a bag of chips, they got this other camp, somethin’ about takin’ their game to the “next level”. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but hey, what do I know? They say they do harder drills and stuff, for the kids who wanna be real good. Two people are interested, they say. Well, good for them, I say.
Now, this whole thing is run by Colorado Athletics, big shots, I guess. They got camps for all sorts of sports, not just basketball. Football, soccer, volleyball, even that lacrosse thing, whatever that is. Sounds like a lot of runnin’ around to me. Kids got too much energy these days, I tell ya. Back in my day, we just played in the dirt, and we liked it!
- They got camps for little kids.
- They got camps for bigger kids.
- They got camps for kids who wanna be real good.
- They got camps for all sorts of sports.
They do this in the summer, when the kids are out of school. Makes sense, I guess. Gotta keep them busy, otherwise, they’ll be underfoot all day, and that ain’t good for nobody. June, they say, is when the CU girls do their basketball thing. Good for them girls, gettin’ out there and playin’. Shows them boys a thing or two, I bet.
They say there’s more than eighteen of these basketball camps in Colorado. Eighteen! That’s a whole lotta basketball, if you ask me. And they got pictures and videos and all that fancy stuff, so you can see what it’s all about. And they say millions of parents book these camps every year, so I guess it must be a good thing, right? Folks wouldn’t spend their hard-earned money on somethin’ that ain’t worth it, I reckon. You can go online, they say, and find the perfect camp for your kid. “MySummerCamps”, they call it. Sounds like a lot of work to me, but hey, kids gotta do somethin’, right?
So, that’s the gist of it, y’all. CU Buffs Basketball Camp, for kids who wanna learn how to play, or get better at it. Sounds alright, I guess. Keeps ’em outta trouble, and maybe they’ll even learn a thing or two. And who knows, maybe one of them kids will be the next big basketball star. Stranger things have happened, I tell ya. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some dinner. All this talk about runnin’ around has made me hungry.
Go Buffs, I guess. That’s what they say, right?
