Now, I ain’t one for fancy words or nuthin’, but I’ll give ya the rundown of them boys, just like I remember hearin’ folks talk ‘bout it back in the day. Clint: Quarterback Extraordinaire
Now, Clint, well he was the one who held the ball and made them passes. I reckon, if you ask anyone from back in the day, they’d tell ya that boy knew how to throw that ball better than most. He had an arm that could hurl that thing a long way, and he did it without even breakin’ a sweat. If you were in the stands, you’d know when Clint had the ball, ‘cause it was gonna be a play to remember. Everybody waited on them long passes, and when he let ‘em loose, you could hear the crowd hold their breath. That boy had skill, no doubt.
Terry: The Running Back
Then there was Terry, now he was somethin’ else. Fast as lightning, this boy could run through folks like they was just standin’ still. Every time he got the ball, it was like watchin’ a blur of motion, and you’d swear no one could catch him. He’d slip through tackles and keep them legs churning, pickin’ up yards like it was nuthin’. If you wanted a touchdown, you just handed it to Terry and watched him go to work.
More Boys Who Shined
There was also that big ol’ lineman, Randy, who made sure nobody got too close to Clint or Terry. That boy was like a wall out there. And don’t forget about the defensive crew, they had some boys who could stop a runner dead in his tracks. Folks still talk ‘bout how good the defense was that year. Them boys would just swarm to the ball and make tackles like they was born to do it. Ain’t no way a team could run through ‘em, no sir.

It was a nail-biter, but the Bears pulled through and got that W, just like we knew they would. Another big game was against Orangefield. We all thought it was gonna be a tough one, but the Bears showed ‘em what it meant to play with heart. Every time the other team thought they had the upper hand, LCM would come right back at ‘em. It was like a big ol’ tug of war, and by the end, the Bears came out on top.
Off the Field
