Okay, so, I wanted to mess around with some dynasty baseball rankings, right? And I figured, why not try out FantasyPros? They’ve got this whole consensus rankings thing, so it seemed like a good place to start.

First off, I went to their site. They’ve got this big list of players, hundreds of them, all ranked based on their expert consensus. Sounds fancy, but really it’s just an average of a bunch of different experts’ opinions. Anyway, I started scrolling through, just to get a feel for it, you know?
Then I decided to dive in a little deeper. You can filter the rankings by position, which is super helpful. I was looking at outfielders mostly, because, well, that’s where my team needs the most help. They’ve got all the big names up top, obviously, but I was more interested in finding some sleepers, guys who are ranked lower but might have a breakout year.
- I spent a good chunk of time just comparing players, looking at their stats from last year, reading what the experts had to say about them.
- It’s kind of overwhelming, to be honest. There’s so much information, and everyone seems to have a different opinion.
- But I started to see some patterns, some guys who kept popping up as potential values.
I ended up making a shortlist of players I was interested in. Then, I took that list and started doing some more research on other sites, just to see if the consensus on FantasyPros was way off base or not. Turns out, it was pretty spot on in most cases.
My Results
After all that, I felt pretty good about my knowledge of the player pool. I didn’t make any huge trades or anything, but I definitely have a better sense of who I want to target in my next draft. Using these rankings really helped me get a lay of the land, even if it was a bit of a time sink. Would I recommend it? Yeah, I think so, especially if you’re new to dynasty leagues or just want a quick way to get a feel for the player values.
Next, I plan on trying their draft tools. Wish me luck on my next fantasy baseball draft!
