Free Mock Draft NFL Fantasy Simulator: Draft Like a Pro!

Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little experiment with a mock draft NFL fantasy simulator. I’ve been itching to get my fantasy football fix, and since it’s the off-season, what better way than a mock draft?

Free Mock Draft NFL Fantasy Simulator: Draft Like a Pro!

First things first, I needed to find a simulator. I just did some searching around and found a bunch of different websites offering them. Some were pretty basic, others more in-depth. I wanted something simple to use, just to get a feel for things.

Picking a Platform

I ended up going with one I liked best, because it seemed pretty straightforward. Didn’t want anything too complicated. Plus, it was free, which is always a bonus!

Setting Up

Once I picked the platform, setting up the mock draft was easy peasy.

  • I could set the number of teams. I went with a standard 12-team league.
  • Then set the scoring, decided to go for a standard PPR (points per reception).
  • Then pick the roster positions. I went for your typical setup: QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, TE, Flex, K, DEF.

With all the settings done, I hit the “Start” button, and boom, I was in the draft room.

The Draft Itself

Now, the fun part! The simulator assigned me a random draft position. This time around I’m picking 5th. Not bad, not bad. I usually do a strategy to get running backs early, I think they’re super valuable. So, that’s what I stuck with in the first couple of rounds. I saw other “teams” (the computer) making their picks, some predictable, some surprising. It’s all part of the game, right? I also made sure to grab a solid quarterback and a couple of wide receivers I liked, and filled out the rest of my roster.

Post-Draft Thoughts

After the draft, I was able to check my team, look at the projected points, and even compare it to the other teams in the mock league. It was very fun to see how my choices stacked up, even if it’s just a simulation.

All in all, it was a fun little exercise. Helped me get my football brain working again. It’s not the real thing, but it’s a decent way to kill some time and get you thinking about your draft strategy. And hey, it’s free, so why not give it a shot?
