Okay, so I’ve been messing around with fantasy football rankings lately, and let me tell you, it’s a whole different ballgame (pun intended!) trying to figure this stuff out on my own. I wanted to share what I did, because it was a learning process, and it might be helpful if you are like me.

Fantasy Football Ranks: Check Top Player Lists, Quick Win now.

First, I started by gathering a bunch of information. I mean, a TON of information. I was looking at like, every website, every “expert” opinion, every stat sheet I could find.

The Data Collection Phase

  • I looked up projections for players. Like, how many yards is this running back supposed to get? How many touchdowns is this quarterback expected to throw?
  • I checked out injury reports. Gotta know who’s healthy, who’s questionable, who’s definitely out. That changes things big time.
  • I compared different ranking lists. You know, see where the “experts” agreed and where they disagreed. It gave me a better feel.

Then, I realized I needed some kind of system. Just staring at a mountain of data wasn’t going to cut it. So I decided to create a simple spreadsheet. Nothing fancy, just a way to organize my thoughts.

I listed out all the players I was interested in, and I added columns for their projected stats, their injury status, and their average draft position (ADP) from a few different sources.

Making Sense of It All

Then, the real work began. I started comparing players within their positions. For example, is Running Back A really that much better than Running Back B? What if Running Back B has an easier schedule?

It became less about just the numbers and more about my gut feeling. I thought about things like:

  • Which offenses are likely to score more points?
  • Which players have a higher ceiling (even if they also have a lower floor)?
  • Who’s got something to prove this year?

Finally, I put together my own, personal rankings. It wasn’t perfect, and I’m sure it’ll change as the season goes on, but it felt good to have a starting point that I could really own.

It’s just a ranking right now, will keep updating and tracking.
