Alright, so today I decided to get my feet wet with a fantasy football mock PPR draft. I’ve played fantasy football for years, but honestly, I usually just wing it on draft day. This year, I’m trying to be a little more… prepared. So, mock draft it is!

First, I logged into the platform. Gotta make sure I am in and ready to go!
Getting Started
I jumped into a mock draft lobby. It filled up pretty quick – seems like everyone’s getting that pre-season itch. I got assigned a random draft spot, which is fine by me. Part of the fun is adapting to whatever position you get.
The Draft
- Rounds 1-3: These were the nail-biters. All the big names flying off the board. I focused on snagging at least one top-tier running back and a solid wide receiver. PPR (points per reception) leagues really change the value of certain players, so I kept reminding myself, “Catching passes is king!”
- Middle Rounds: This is where things got interesting. I started looking for value picks – guys who might be overlooked but have high upside. I paid attention to bye weeks, trying not to stack too many players with the same week off. Also snuck in a decent quarterback and tight end, positions I don’t love to use a high pick.
- Later Rounds: Here’s where you gamble! I picked up some rookies with potential, a few “sleeper” running backs who might get more touches than expected, and a kicker (because, well, you gotta).
Post-Draft Thoughts
After the dust settled, I took a good look at my team. It wasn’t perfect, that is for sure! But the mock draft did exactly what I needed – I could experiment with different strategies. It’s all practice, right? Now I feel a little more confident about making those tough calls when the real draft rolls around. And the main thing is: do not panic!
