Fantasy Football Draft Rankings PPR: Dominate Your League!

Alright, so, I’ve been playing fantasy football for years, and every year, I tell myself I’m gonna be super prepared for the draft. This year, I actually did something about it. I was digging around for some good PPR (Points Per Reception) rankings, and I figured I’d share my whole process, ’cause it was kinda interesting.

Fantasy Football Draft Rankings PPR: Dominate Your League!

Finding The Initial Rankings

First, I started by just Googling, you know, “fantasy football draft rankings PPR 2023”. I got a bunch of the usual big sites, and I opened a few of ’em up in different tabs.

Combining The Data

I decided to gather rankings from some different sources and I started copying and pasting the top, like, 50 players from each site into a spreadsheet. Just name, position, and their overall ranking. It was a bit tedious, but gotta do what you gotta do, right?

Analyzing My Spreadsheet Data

Once I had all the data dumped into the spreadsheet, I started looking for patterns. Like, which players were consistently ranked high across all the different sources? Those were the guys I wanted to target, obviously.

I also looked for players who had big differences in rankings. You know, one site might have a guy at, like, 15, and another would have him down at 40. Those were the players I made a note to research more, to see why there was such a big difference in opinion.

The Customization Part

The next part was all about customizing. I know my league’s scoring settings inside and out, also, my league mates’ habits. Some of them always go for running backs early, others love grabbing a top quarterback in the first round. Stuff like that.

So, I started tweaking my spreadsheet. I added a column for “My Rank,” where I adjusted the players based on my league’s specifics and my own gut feeling. Like, if I knew a certain receiver was gonna get a ton of targets because of a new quarterback, I might bump him up a few spots, even if the “expert” rankings had him lower.

The Result (So Far!)

The end result is this kind of Frankenstein’s monster of a ranking list. It’s not pretty, but it’s mine. I’ve got my “safe” picks, my “sleeper” picks, and my “avoid at all costs” picks all marked.

The draft is still a couple of weeks away, so I’m still tinkering. I’m reading injury reports, watching pre-season games, and listening to way too many fantasy football podcasts. But, having this customized ranking list as my starting point makes me feel way more prepared than I usually do.

I also need to practice Mock Drafts and be ready for some real-time situations, I will adjust the rankings according to Mock Drafts, wish I can get a good result this year.
