Fantasy Draft Football Picks: Top Tips & Strategies for 2024!

Alright, so today I dove headfirst into the world of fantasy football draft picks. It’s that time of year again, and I wanted to be prepared this time, unlike last year’s disastrous mid-season collapse.

Fantasy Draft Football Picks: Top Tips & Strategies for 2024!

Getting Started

First, I opened up my favorite fantasy football website. I needed to get a feel for the player rankings and average draft positions (ADPs). You know, see who’s hot and who’s not. I also checked out a few mock drafts to see how real people were picking, not just the “experts.”

Digging into the Data

Then, things got serious. I created a spreadsheet – yep, I’m one of those guys. I listed all the players I was remotely interested in, along with their key stats from last year: touchdowns, yards, receptions, all that good stuff. I also added columns for their projected stats for this year and their current ADP.

  • Column 1: Player Name
  • Column 2: 2023 Stats
  • Column 3: projected stats
  • Column 4: ADP

Analyzing and Strategizing

Next, I started crunching the numbers. I compared last year’s performance to this year’s projections, looking for any major discrepancies. Were there any players who were being overvalued or undervalued? I also factored in things like injuries, new teams, and coaching changes.

I spent a good chunk of time just staring at the spreadsheet, moving players up and down my list. I also read some articles and listened to a few podcasts to get different perspectives. Gotta get those takes!

My (Current) Top Picks

Based on all my research (and gut feelings), I’ve narrowed down my top picks for each position. And Because this is my own rule, I’m not sharing the actual names (gotta keep some secrets!), but I will say I’m feeling pretty good about my running back and wide receiver targets. Quarterback is always a tough one, but I think I’ve identified a few solid options. Also I found a few “sleeper” picks – guys who are being drafted late but have the potential to be big-time producers.

Final preparation

I plan to do a few more mock drafts before the real deal. That way, I can test out different strategies and see how my rankings hold up. Fantasy football is a marathon, not a sprint, so I need to keep researching and adjusting my strategy throughout the season. Wish me luck!
