So, I heard on the radio, them fellas at “Pro Football Focus,” they got this list. A list of the best football players, but only the young ones. Under 25, they say. Imagine that! Barely grown outta their diapers and they’re already playin’ this rough game.
Now, they made this list last year too. And guess who’s on it again this year? This fella, Creed somethin’-somethin’. Humphrey, that’s it! Creed Humphrey. Plays for the Chiefs, ya know, the team with the red and yellow. My grandson, he loves them Chiefs, always shoutin’ at the TV.

That Humphrey Fella, He’s Good, They Say
They say this Humphrey fella is a center. Don’t ask me what that means exactly, somethin’ about hittin’ other fellas and protectin’ that quarterback. Anyway, they give him a real high score, somethin’ like 90-somethin’. Said he played real good against some team, Cincin…Cincin… ah, forget it, some city with a funny name.
Now, 90-somethin’, that sounds mighty good, even I know that. Like gettin’ an A-plus in school, I guess. My grandaughter, she’s always braggin’ about her A-pluses. So this Humphrey fella, he must be doin’ somethin’ right.
Stars Everywhere, Like Fireflies on a Summer Night
They say the football league, the NFL, it’s full of stars. Like them fireflies you see on a summer night, blinkin’ all over the place. But not all stars are the same, ya know? Some shine brighter than others. And seems like this Humphrey fella, he’s shinin’ pretty bright for a young ‘un.

And of course, they always talkin’ about this Mahomes fella. Patrick Mahomes. He’s the quarterback, the one who throws the ball. He’s like the rooster in the henhouse, the big shot. Everyone knows him. He’s real good too, probably the best they say. But this article, it ain’t about him, it’s about that Humphrey fella, the center.
Football is a Tough Game
I tell ya, football, it’s a rough game. These fellas, they’re big and strong, runnin’ into each other like bulls in a pasture.

My husband, he used to play a little football in high school. Said it was tough, but he loved it. He’d always be yellin’ at the TV, tellin’ them players what to do. Bless his heart, he thought he knew it all. He’s gone now, but I still watch the games sometimes, thinkin’ of him.
Gettin’ Better All the Time
So, this Humphrey fella, he’s young, but he’s already playin’ like a seasoned pro. That’s what they say, anyway. And if them fellas at “Pro Football Focus” say he’s good, then I guess he’s good. They seem to know what they’re talkin’ about, most of the time.
It’ll be interestin’ to see how this young fella does in the future. Will he keep gettin’ better? Will he become a real star, like that Mahomes fella? Only time will tell, I reckon. But for now, he’s doin’ somethin’ right, that’s for sure.

You know, sometimes I think these football games, they’re more than just games. They bring people together, give ‘em somethin’ to cheer about. Somethin’ to talk about. And in this crazy world, that ain’t a bad thing, not at all. It’s somethin’ to look forward to, somethin’ to enjoy, even if you don’t understand all the rules and all the fancy talk.
