Celebrating Women in Tennis Commentary: Famous voices today

Alright, so you wanna know about them tennis commentators, the women yapping on TV when them tennis players be whacking the ball? I’ll tell ya what I know, though I ain’t no fancy tennis expert, ya hear?

Celebrating Women in Tennis Commentary: Famous voices today

First off, there’s this Caroline Wozniacki. She used to be a real good player, number one in the world, they say. Now she’s talkin’ on TV, tellin’ folks what’s what. She’s on that Tennis Channel, chattin’ ‘bout them matches at Indian Wells and Miami. Good for her, I say. Keeps busy, I guess, after all that runnin’ around.

Then you got Chrissie Evert. She’s another one, been around forever. ESPN got her talkin’, and she knows her stuff, that’s for sure. Played a long time ago, but still sharp as a tack, that Chrissie.

Now, Mary Carillo, she’s a talker, that one! Been jabberin’ about tennis for ages. People seem to like her, though. Says it like it is, no fancy words, just plain talk. She’s on NBC, both for tennis and them Olympics. Always got somethin’ to say, that Mary.

And don’t forget about Martina Navratilova. They say she’s maybe the best woman tennis player ever. Or right up there with Serena Williams, anyway. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? She’s been on TV too, tellin’ folks how it’s done. She knows a thing or two, you betcha.

  • Emma Raducanu, she’s a young one, just started winnin’ big stuff lately. Folks love her. She won that US Open, big deal that was. So maybe someday she’ll be jabberin’ on TV too, who knows?
  • Then there’s Billie Jean King. She was a fighter, that one. Not just on the court, but for women everywhere. Fightin’ for equal pay, she was. Won a bunch of those Grand Slam thingies too. A real tough cookie.
  • And this Rennae Stubbs, she’s from Australia. She used to play, now she’s teachin’ folks and talkin’ on TV. An Olympian, they say. Fancy that!

So, that’s the lowdown on them lady tennis commentators, as far as I know. Some used to play, some still playin’, some just talkin’. They all know their tennis, that’s for sure. And they keep us entertained, even if we don’t always understand all them fancy tennis moves. It’s just like watchin’ them soap operas, but with more runnin’ around and less kissin’, ha!

They’re all different, these ladies. Some are all serious, like they’re teachin’ a class. Some are funny, makin’ jokes and keepin’ it light. And some are just plain talkers, tellin’ you what’s happenin’ like they’re sittin’ next to you on the couch. But they all got one thing in common: they love tennis. And they want you to love it too. Or at least understand it a little bit.

So next time you’re watchin’ a tennis match, pay attention to them women talkin’. They might just tell you somethin’ you didn’t know. And even if they don’t, they’ll keep you company while them tennis players whack that ball back and forth. It ain’t rocket science, this tennis talkin’. But it’s somethin’, ain’t it? Keeps folks entertained, and that’s all that matters, I reckon.

Anyway, that’s all I got to say about them tennis commentators, the women talkin’ on TV. They do their job, and that’s good enough for me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talkin’ about tennis makes a body hungry!
