Alright, so you wanna know about this CBC baseball roster, huh? Let me tell ya, it ain’t rocket science. It’s just a bunch of young fellas who like to swing bats and throw balls. I seen a few games in my time, even though I don’t understand all them fancy rules. But I know a good hit when I see one!
Now, from what I gather, there’s different CBCs with baseball teams. You got this Central Baptist College, they call themselves the Mustangs. Sounds like a bunch of wild horses, if you ask me. Then there’s Columbia Basin College, they’re the Hawks. Hawks, huh? Guess they like to swoop down and snatch victory. And don’t forget about Coastal Bend College, though I ain’t sure what their team is called. Too many colleges, if you ask me. Makes an old lady’s head spin.
Anyways, these teams, they got all these players. Big ones, small ones, some throw fast, some hit hard. They got a whole list, a roster they call it. It’s got all their names and I guess how tall they are, maybe even how much they weigh. Not sure why that matters, but I guess it does to them baseball folks. I remember seein’ a game once, this fella was so big, he looked like he coulda knocked the ball clean outta the park just by starin’ at it!
- Pitchers: Them’s the fellas who throw the ball. They try to trick the hitters, make ’em swing and miss. Some throw real fast, some throw curveballs, all kinds of crazy stuff.
- Catchers: They squat down behind the hitter and catch the ball. Tough job, I tell ya. Gotta wear all that gear, hot and sweaty in the summertime.
- Infielders: They stand around the bases, tryin’ to catch the ball and tag the runners out. Lots of runnin’ and divin’ involved.
- Outfielders: They’re out in the grassy part, chasin’ after them long fly balls. Gotta be fast runners, them fellas.
- Hitters: These are the guys who try to hit the ball, far as they can. The best ones, they hit home runs. That’s when the ball goes way over the fence. Everybody cheers then.
Now, finding this roster ain’t too hard, I reckon. You can go on the internet, if you know how to do that fancy stuff. Just type in “CBC baseball roster” and see what pops up. Or you can go to the college website, they usually got it there. Look for the sports page, then baseball. It’ll be there somewhere. Or, you know, you could just go to a game and buy a program. They always got the roster in there. That way you can see the fellas in person, too. Much more fun than lookin’ at pictures on a computer screen, if you ask me.
Conference and division? Don’t ask me what all that means. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me. I guess it’s how they organize the teams, so they play the right folks. Like how they have different leagues for the chickens at the county fair, I guess. And this NWAC thing? Probably just another one of them fancy acronyms. Northwest somethin’ somethin’, I bet. Too much jargon these days.
But the important thing is, these young fellas are out there playin’ ball. They’re havin’ fun, gettin’ exercise, and learnin’ about teamwork. That’s what matters, right? So, whether they’re Mustangs, Hawks, or somethin’ else, let’s cheer ’em on. Give ’em a good clap when they hit the ball, and even when they don’t. It ain’t easy bein’ a baseball player, I tell ya. Takes a lot of practice and hard work.
And if you wanna know more, you gotta do your own research. Like I said, I’m just an old lady. I know a little bit, but I don’t know everything. But I do know that baseball is a good game, and these young fellas are doin’ their best. So go on out there and support ’em!
FieldLevel? That sounds like some kind of app thingamajig. For recruiting players, you say? Well, I guess them coaches gotta find their players somehow. Back in my day, they just went to the local school and picked the biggest, strongest boys. Times sure have changed.
Remember, gotta support them youngsters! They work hard, you hear? Real hard! So go on and find that roster. You’ll be glad you did.
