Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about the 2023 NFL draft, and I wanted to get in on the action. I’m no expert, but I love football, and I figured a mock draft simulator would be a fun way to kill some time and maybe learn a thing or two. So, I decided to give it a shot.

Finding a Simulator
First things first, I needed to find a decent simulator. I just did some searching and found a few options. I didn’t want anything too complicated, just something straightforward that I could jump into without a ton of setup.
Starting My Mock Draft
I picked one that looked pretty user-friendly and started a new mock draft. I think it randomly assigned me a team, which was cool. It added a bit of a surprise element. I got the Panthers, I gotta try to get a good QB.
Making My Picks
Then came the actual drafting part. The simulator presented me with a list of available players, their positions, and some basic stats. Honestly, I mostly went by the overall ratings and the team’s needs. I wasn’t trying to be a genius, just make some logical * felt a little overwhelming at first with so many choices, but I tried to my best.
- First Round Pick: I needed a QuarterBack, there is one rated pretty, I picked that one.
- Second Round: I focused on building, tring to give my QB some protection.
- Later Rounds: I just tried to fill in any remaining gaps and maybe grab a few players who looked promising.
Reviewing the Results
After I went through all the rounds, the simulator gave me a summary of my draft class. I think it even gave me a grade, which was kinda neat, even if I didn’t fully understand all the criteria. I got a “B-“, I would say it is not too bad.
The Takeaway
Overall, it was a pretty cool experience. I definitely don’t think I’m ready to be an NFL general manager or anything, but it was fun to play pretend for a bit. I maybe even learned a little bit about some of the prospects in the process. I might even try another mock draft later, maybe with a different team to see how things * is really fun to do some mock draft!
