Alright, let’s talk about them Adam Sandler movies, the ones with all that baseball stuff. You know, the funny ones, the ones where things get all messed up and then somehow, they get fixed, kinda like life, I guess.
Adam Sandler, that goofy fella, he’s been makin’ movies for a long time now. I remember seein’ him way back when, always playin’ these silly characters, you know, the kind that make you laugh even when you don’t want to. He’s done a bunch of movies, some good, some not so good, but the ones about baseball, well, they got a special place, I tell ya.
- He ain’t always playin’ baseball, mind you. He’s done all sorts of things, like bein’ a goofy dad, or a fella with a weird love life, or even a monster in a hotel! But when he does baseball, it’s somethin’ else.
- And let me tell ya, he’s made a whole heap of money doin’ it too. Heard he’s got like, 440 million dollars or somethin’. That’s a lot of money for makin’ people laugh, ain’t it?
Now, I ain’t no movie expert or nothin’, but I know what I like. And I like them baseball movies where things ain’t always serious. You know, the ones where they can joke around, make fun of themselves, and still hit a home run when it counts. That’s kinda like Adam Sandler in a nutshell, I reckon. He’s like that old baseball player, maybe past his prime, but still hittin’ them home runs every now and then.
I saw one movie, can’t quite remember the name, where he was playin’ with this young fella from that Saturday Night Live show. They were a mess, those two, but they were funny as all get out. Reminded me of some of the fellas I used to know back in the day, always gettin’ into trouble but somehow comin’ out alright.
And then there’s them other movies, the ones where he’s not playin’ baseball but it’s still got that same feel. You know, the ones with the big families, or the weird friends, or the crazy situations. They’re all kinda connected in a way, I think. They’re about folks tryin’ to figure things out, tryin’ to find their place in the world, and doin’ it with a laugh and a smile.
Folks say he’s been makin’ movies for like, 30 years or somethin’. That’s a long time to be makin’ people laugh. He’s done all sorts of things, even some Western movies, which I never quite understood, but hey, to each their own, I always say. But the baseball ones, they stick with ya. They remind you of bein’ a kid, goin’ to the ballpark with your family, eatin’ hot dogs and popcorn, and watchin’ the game. It ain’t always about winnin’ or losin’, it’s about havin’ fun, and that’s what Adam Sandler movies are all about, far as I can tell.
He’s like that fella in that golf movie, you know, the one where everything is all crazy and silly? That’s Adam Sandler, always makin’ things a little bit crazy, a little bit silly, but always makin’ you laugh. And that’s why I like him, and that’s why I like his baseball movies. They’re just good, clean fun, the kind you can watch with your grandkids, or your neighbors, or just by yourself on a Saturday night. And ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, not one little bit. You know, some of his movies are even on that Netflix thing, all them newfangled contraptions they got now. They say there’s like 18 of his movies on there, can you believe it? I tell ya, that fella’s been busy.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a good laugh, somethin’ to take your mind off things, go watch an Adam Sandler movie. Especially one of them baseball ones. You won’t be disappointed. And if you are, well, then you just don’t got no sense of humor, and that ain’t my fault. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about movies has made me hungry.
