Alright, alright, let’s talk about this tennis thing, you know, the kind where you gotta run around and hit that fuzzy yellow ball. They call it “r cash tennis” or somethin’ fancy, but to me, it’s just plain ol’ tennis, the kind that makes you sweat like a pig in July.

First off, you gotta move your feet, that’s for sure. I saw this thing, they called it “Touch the Ground,” or some such. Sounded silly, but it’s all about shufflin’ side to side, like you’re dancin’ but without the music. Gets your heart pumpin’ somethin’ fierce, let me tell ya. It ain’t no waltz, though, more like a jig when you’re chasin’ that ball.
Then there’s the strength stuff. Now, I ain’t talkin’ about liftin’ no tractors, but you gotta be strong enough to swing that racket like you mean it. They got all these exercises, fancy names and all, but it boils down to makin’ your muscles work. Gotta build them up so you can hit that ball hard, real hard, like you’re tryin’ to knock the feathers outta it.
- You gotta run fast.
- You gotta be quick like a bunny.
- You gotta move around good, like you’re dodgin’ chickens in the yard.
See, these young folks, they run around with a racket in their hand all the time durin’ a match, like it’s glued there or somethin’. That’s what they teach ya, I guess. Makes sense, though, you can’t hit the ball without it, can ya?
And talk about runnin’! That tennis match can go on forever, seems like. Sometimes it’s just an hour, but I’ve seen ‘em go on for five hours or more! Can you imagine? Runnin’ and hittin’ for five whole hours! Your heart must be beatin’ like a drum solo the whole time.
They say them young fellas, the ones who play all the time, their hearts beat somethin’ like 140 to 160 times a minute. That’s a lot of thumpin’, let me tell you. Sounds like a hummingbird tryin’ to escape a cat. And they got this blood stuff, lactate they call it, that builds up in their muscles when they run too much. Makes ‘em tired, I reckon.
But it ain’t just about runnin’ all the time. Sometimes you run real hard, like you’re chasin’ the ice cream truck, and sometimes you just walk around a bit, catchin’ your breath. It’s all mixed up, you know? Fast and slow, hard and easy, just like life, I guess. And the better you are, the harder you run, seems like. Them fancy players, they run like the devil himself is chasin’ them.
So, if you wanna play this “r cash tennis” thing, you gotta be ready to move. Gotta be strong, gotta be quick, and gotta have a heart that can keep up. It ain’t for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. But if you can stick with it, well, then you might just have yourself a good time. And who knows, maybe you’ll even win a few matches, get yourself a little somethin’ somethin’ for your troubles.
Remember, keep your eye on that ball, move them feet and don’t forget to breath, or you be keelin’ over faster than a cow in a thunderstorm. That’s all there is to it, really. Nothin’ fancy, just good ol’ fashioned hard work.
